*3 years later*
It had been three years since Niall and I had stopped being best friends. We would occasionally talk but eventually we just stopped talking all together, it had become way too awkward.
It had also been two and half years since Niall auditioned for the X-Factor. He had made it through but was joined by four other boys; they called themselves ‘One Direction.’ Even though Niall and I weren’t friends anymore I still watched every episode of the X-Factor, smiling wide every time they performed.
They hadn’t won but that didn’t matter. They soon became HUGE in the music industry and made girls hearts flutter.
That’s all people really talked about in my hometown Mullingar. Everywhere I went someone brought up One Direction and every time someone said Niall’s name my stomach twisted.

“You ready Alexis?” I heard my mom’s sweet voice say bringing me out of my daydream. I sighed, “hold on!” I grabbed my suit cases and took one last look at my now empty bedroom. I was starting college in a couple weeks. I was accepted into a big college in London where my best friend Emma was also accepted. My sister Rebecca was already attending the college and had a little three bedroom apartment on the outskirts of the campus, which is where Emma and I were going to be living.
But first I had to go to the airport and get on a plane to London. I rushed downstairs and walked out of my house towards my mom, who was placing my suit cases into the trunk of our car. “I’m going to miss this place and you guys” I pouted to my mom and dad. My mom walked over to me and hugged me tightly, my dad coming quietly up behind her “hey, it’s not like you’ll be gone forever. Just a couple years and you’ll get to come home for holidays” my mom said trying to look on the bright side of things.
I sighed and put one last suit case in the car. We got into the car and drove to the airport, Emma was meeting us there.
We pulled up to the airport and got out of the car. I grabbed my suit cases and hugged my parents. “We’ll miss you!” they both said in unison. I laughed though the tears that were rolling down my face, “I’ll miss you to!”
“Alexis!” I heard someone squeal and I automatically knew who it was. “Emma!” I squealed back and hugged her. I gave my parents one last hug, as did Emma with her family. “Make sure you call us when you arrive in London” my dad said sternly, he was always overprotective, I nodded my head. Emma and I soon had to leave our families behind when someone over the intercom said “FLIGHT TO LONDON WILL BE ARRIVING SHORTLY”
We checked our bags in and waited for our plane. “Are you excited?” Emma asked me smiling, “Of course!” I smiled back. Our transportation had arrived so we boarded the small plane.

After what seemed like forever we finally arrived in London. I was just so relieved to have my feet on the ground again; I wasn’t a big fan of planes.
Emma and I grabbed our bags and waited outside for my sister to pick us up. Rebecca finally arrived and we loaded our bags into her car and then got in. Rebecca turned towards us, “are you ready for the London life girls?” she asked happily.
“Yes!” Emma and I both shouted.
