I had my biology books spread all around me on the floor. I had a BIG test at college in two days that I was definitely not ready for! I sighed; I just seemed to not be able to focus. So much had been happening lately, it was definitely taking a toll on me. And my sister blaring music from her bedroom surely didn’t help the situation…

I looked up as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Emma came around the corner dressed in a little black dress and her makeup and hair perfect. My eyebrows scrunched together, “why are you so dressed up?”

Emma turned towards me with a fake confused look on her face. “Oh this” she pointed to her outfit, “I’m going out with a friend”

“A friend? Who?” I asked her. She shrugged quickly, “no one important. I have to go” she said, grabbed her purse, blew me a kiss, and then walked out the door. I looked around confused; she was acting so weird, ever since we went to go meet the One Direction boys a week ago. She had been going out every night with this ‘friend’…

I sighed once more, picked up my books, and put them into my bag. It seems like I was going to get no studying done at home with this music, might as well go somewhere more relaxing. “Rebecca, I’m going out” I told my sister. “Okay” she yelled back from her bedroom.

I grabbed my bag and walked out the door. I went to the little coffee place down the street, got a coffee, and then walked to the small quiet park around the corner. I had been going there quite frequently; I seemed to always get my studying done there. The quiet surroundings were perfect for someone who needed to study.

I walked to a nearby tree and sat at the stump. I took out my textbooks and notes, and sipped on my coffee as I read them over. I smiled to myself as I watched two squirrels fight over an acorn, I could hear the slight sound of cars passing by on the street across from the park but the sound was overpowered by the noise of the flowing waterfall on the right of me. ‘This is relaxing’ I thought in my head.

I let go of the paper that was in my hand and rested my head on the tree stump, enjoying the calming sounds. At that moment, I small bird came wiping by my face and grabbed the paper I had let go of with its beak. “No!” I yelled at the bird as it flew off with my paper. I got up quickly and chased after the bird, trying my hardest to grab the paper but had no luck.

The bird suddenly let go of my paper and flew off. The paper fell from the bird’s beak and right into a puddle. “Shit!” I screamed in frustration. “Stupid bird!” I yelled as people stared at me, but I didn’t care.

I squatted down and picked up my now soaked paper. ‘Just my luck’ I thought. The paper that had most of my important notes on it was now ruined. I sighed in frustration, everything was falling apart.

“Are you okay?” I heard some deep raspy voice ask behind me, “Oh yeah, just fine!” I said sarcastically and slung my soaking paper back into the puddle. I looked up at where the voice was coming from and met a familiar pair of green eyes. “Harry” I laughed at the curly haired boy, “I didn’t know it was you” I now felt guilty for snapping at him

Harry put his hands up defensively, “it’s fine…” I laughed which made Harry laugh. Harry pointed to the puddle with my paper in it, “having a problem?” he asked. I rolled my eyes and sighed, “Yes” I then explained to him what had happened to me.

“I know, I saw you jumping up and down chasing after that bird” he laughed at my actions. I smiled, his laugh was so cute. “I guess the bird won…” I shrugged my shoulders sadly and looked down at my feet. What was I going to study with now?

Harry put his finger underneath my chin and brought my face up so he could see my face, “Maybe I can help you?” he said. I gave him a confused look, “how?” I asked. “Well when I was younger I also wanted to become a Wildlife biologists, well besides being a singer, and I know a lot about the career. Soooo...maybe I could help you study…” he smiled down at me. I nodded my head quickly, “Okay”

I brought him over to the tree I had been sitting under and gave him a textbook. Harry started asking me questions and every time I answered one correctly he would give me a big smile and a high five, which made me want to get every single question correct.

After we finished studying we walked around the park a little more and talked to each other about the most randomest stuff. “So you and Niall use to be really good friends?” Harry asked me as we sat down next to a waterfall. I sighed, “Yup, Best friends.” Harry looked around, “if you don’t mind me asking, what happened?” he asked. I shrugged and said “Niall wanted something that I didn’t. He wanted to be for than friends and we had this stupid fight over it, which ruined our friendship.”

Harry looked at me surprised, “Oh…” After our little walk around the park, Harry brought me home. “I had fun” I told him, he agreed. “Maybe we can do this another time?” he said as he scratched the back of his head nervously. I nodded my head, “I would love that! You are now officially my study buddy!” I laughed, which caused Harry to laugh.

We said our goodbyes and as I walked into my house Harry grabbed my wrist, “I don’t blame Niall for wanting to be more than friends with you. You’re a lovely girl” he said and then winked.

Then he just walked away, leaving me standing on my doorstep blushing.
