Willow Grove is (or was) a city in Tennessee near the Kentucky border-
In 1842, the land of the city was bought by the government, and the inhabitabts were forced by the government to move away. The government was demolishing buildings and businesses to build a dam. Bonfires were kindled in every field, and claps of dynamite shook the earth. Willow Grove, once a beautiful, thriving city, looked like a war zone. Once the dam was finished, the water rose, and the city was engulfed in what is now Dale Hollow Lake. From above, you can still see the schoolhouse underneath the surface of the water. The city was officially nicknamed 'The City That Drowned'.
