School had just gotten out, and the pogues were chilling at John B's, naturally. "So are we not gonna talk about the fact that Black Widow sacrificed herself for her best friends and she didn't get a fucking funeral?" Pope argued to John B.

The two boys had gotten to see the Avengers Endgame finally and Pope was not happy about Black Widow's ending. As John B was ready to go in for another point in their argument, JJ decided to cut them off.

"So Kie, don't you have a new sister coming in this week?" the blonde boy said to her with a smirk on his face.

"Yes JJ, and no you aren't allowed to mack on her, you perv," Kie sassed at him with smile.

The pogues were a family, and they had been for a couple of years, and it was kind of exciting to maybe get another member of their family. Kie had been a nervous wreck all week. She was a loyal friend to her pogues, but they were also her boys, and she was afraid they would leave her, but Kie shook her head of those negative thoughts. She knew they were her family and they would never leave her. Plus, the girl was excited to have a new family member.

"Kie, do you know anything about your new sister?" John B asked her as he lazily laid back on his bed.

The group was hanging out in his room with Pope next to him, while JJ was sitting on the window and Kie in his desk chair.

"Her name is Peyton Leona Calhoun and I know she is coming from Mississippi, I don't really know anything else about her though," Kie told them with a thoughtful look on her face, trying to remember if there was anything else her parents told her.

"Damn, Peyton Leona Calhoun, that's almost as southern as John Booker Routledge," Pope decided to chime in with a laugh. The group all chuckled at the comment, knowing that it was half true.

"Why don't we just call her Cal, that seems appropriate right?" Kie asked the group, although JJ was half listening as he was to busy rolling his weed.

"We might just need to play that by ear Kie, she might already have a nickname or she might go by just her first name," John B said thoughtfully.

"Yea, you're probably right, but do y'all mind taking me home, I think she is arriving today and I wanna be there before my parents try to rope her into kook activities" Kie said sarcastically as she got up from the chair and headed towards the van.

The boys looked at each other and started to head towards John B's van to take their girl home. They also were secretly hoping they could catch a glance at the new sister she was getting.

Peyton Leona had woken up right as Ms. Sandy crossed the line to the city limits. They passed by beautiful houses and fancy restaurants. Peyton Leona didn't know what to think about it.

When she was younger Ms. Sandy was able to get her into homes that were upper middle class, but as she got older it was harder to get that. This was the first time Peyton Leona would be in high class neighborhood and she didn't really know how to feel about it.

She looked down at her Fleetwood Mac tee tucked into ripped shorts. Ms. Sandy stopped by one of those gas stations for truck drivers that had showers and everything so Peyton Leona could change and get a good shower.

She felt icky since she left the Blythe's household and she was more than thankful to get into clean clothes. She didn't know if she would fit in, but she also knew that she wasn't here to make friends. She didn't know anything about her foster family, other than their names were the Carrera's.

She wondered if they had kids and if she would have to deal with sibling bullying as well. She had a couple of times gone to homes with children already in them, and sometimes they were nice but other times they liked to pick on Peyton Leona.

Looking out the end of a cul de sac she saw a cool Volkswagen van pull up the last house closest to the water. She watched as a tall girl with curly brown hair and tan skin get out of the passenger seat while 3 boys all got out and stood or sat on the hood of the van. Guess she was getting an audience on meeting the family.

"Alright sweetie, I know we haven't had the best runs with some of the homes, but I personally came and saw these people before I got you. They are a really sweet couple and they have a daughter named Kiara and she is your age. They are really sweet and this is actually they're first time fostering," Ms. Sandy said as she parked the car right next to the van.

Peyton Leona saw the boys looking in the car, trying to get a glance at the girl. She hid herself behind her braids, afraid they would see the damage done to her face.

"If this is their first time fostering, why aren't they fostering a baby or a little one?" Peyton Leona looked at Ms. Sandy with a questionable look.

"They requested to foster kids that were closer to their daughter's age. They seem like a really nice family, so let's go say hello and please have an open mind" Ms. Sandy told Peyton Leona as she got out of the car.

The blonde girl blew out a breath and got out of the car with her trash bag of clothes. She glanced at the three boys, they all turned their heads acting like they weren't spying except for the blonde one.

He made eye contact and his blue eyes met her brown ones and Peyton Leona kept the stare, it was only a second before the blonde boy gave a big smirk and broke eye contact.

The girl was confused, she thought he was sizing her up, but the contact was to quick for him to that. Shaking her head, Peyton Leona made her way to the stairs and to her new life for however long that would last til the next home.

The boys watched as the car with two people in it come to a stop right next to them. The three pogues wanted to check and see who the new Carrera family was going to be.

JJ could see even through the tint of the windshield that the girl had a black eye. When she got out of the car he also noted the busted lip and bruise on her hairline. He thought she was like him in the sense of getting into fight, his heart dropped when he noticed the hand print bruises on her arms when the fabric of her shirt ruffled in the wind. He realized she was like him, but in the way he would never want anyone to be.

Even though he saw this new information, he kept his boyish smirk and made eye contact with the girl. He couldn't deny she was beautiful. She was tiny but she reminded him of a wolf, she walked with confidence but also aware of everything around her. When her brown eyes met his blue ones, he could see she was trying to size him and the boys up. That gave him a good smile and he turned away. JJ knew right then that she would be apart of their family.

"Mr. and Mrs. Carrera, this is Peyton Leona Calhoun. Peyton Leona, this is your foster family," Ms. Sandy told the girl.

She gave a small smile, not really knowing what to expect. She made a mistake though when Mrs. Carrera tried to go in for a hug, Peyton Leona wasn't expecting it so she flinched and took a couple of steps back.

The lady's eyes went wide and she immediately went to apologize. Peyton Leona felt bad, it was just a reflex after years of having bad homes, so to make the woman feel better, Peyton Leona went to shake the ladies hand with an apologetic smile.

Mrs. Carrera seemed to understand the girl was trying so she gave her a big smile and ushered the two women into the big house.
