"Lydia, wake up"
This sentence kept repeating in my head, or at least I think, I'm not sure if I was imagining it or someone was calling to me. My body was completely frozen, paralyzed and I was cold...really cold. It felt like i'd just been stuck to the ground, which was uncomfortable, full of crumpled leaves and tiny rocks. My body is fueled with pain, but I wasn't able to scream or anything for that matter. But then, it's like my body had just woken up, rapidly, I'm not really sure what happened, but I just screamed.
"Hey, are you okay?" Someone asked me, their voice was calming, and familiar, but my ears felt like something was stuffed into them and my vision was blurry.
"Lydia?" Another voice spoke, this time it was masculine one, I don't know if i knew them, but I don't think it really mattered.
My vision started to get more and more cleared and so did my hearing. And that's when I noticed Allison, and her boyfriend, Scott? I think, and a bunch of other random people whom I don't know.
"How did you guys know that I was here?" I asked, I mean..it's not like they just went on a trip to the woods one night and coincidentally stumbled across me.
"We heard you scream, I mean, they heard you scream, Malia, Scott and Liam, and called us, and we came."A guy started, I guessed he was from our school, he looked so familair, I just couldn't put my finger on it. His voice was so pleasing and satisfying to listen to, his hair looked wet, and messy, h was wearing a green and black flannel on top of a basic whote shirt. I return to looking back to Allison, as he might think I was staring.
"Lydia, what happened to your hands?" Allison asked me, while holding both of my palms so I could see them, I fastly loosened them out of her firm grip and looked at them. Covered in blood, small cuts here and there, what the hell was going on.
"Can I go home?" I asked, almost sounding desperate, I mean, I was, and I was also horrified, and scared.
"I got here with my motorcycle." Scott looks over at me, looking worried, and like he was about to ask me "are you okay?".
"Scott picked me up" Allison says.
"I ran here."
"So did I"
"I live kinda close to this area"
A bunch of people kept saying how they came here, it was like they were coming up with excuses to not get me home. While I think about it, Allison wraps small pieces if cloth over my hands.
"Well I came here with my car" It was the guy in the flannel shirt.
"Stiles, can drop you off at my house if you want" Allison assures me. His name was Stiles, it did sound familiar, I bet I'd know who he was If i'd pay more attention to other people in my class.
"No it's fine, my mom isn't home anyway." I respond, I had just realized that I was starving, not only that, but every bone in my body felt like it was gonna crack.
"Do you need any help getting up?" A raven haired girl asked me, pointing out a hand . And then she took it back, realizing, but then I felt two hands crawling on my back, I winced, the pain was horrible, but nothing I couldn't handle. He walked me out of the woods, which wasn't that much of a long way, and then dropped me into a old looking blue jeep, that smelled like french fries.
"Call me when you get home, ok?" Allison told me, to which I just nodded. And then I heard someone enter the car. It was Stiles. Even though I couldn't see well, he looked pretty attractive, God Lydia, what the hell are you thinking about? You woke up in the woods, with cuts on your hand, and you're rating someone who was nice enough to drop you home.
"Are you cold." He spoke, breaking the silence.
"Yes." I firmly respond. I was only wearing a thin layered and short nightgown, I'm going to admit, the weather was nice, I mean it wasn't late fall or winter cold, but it wasn't summer hot either. It was late spring. Before I knew it, I got a flannel handed out to me, that smelled like rain water, perfume and...fries. But the perfume wasn't male, it smelled more feminine, I wasn't judging wether he was the one who had that kind of perfume, maybe he just had a girlfriend, or he hugged his mom with it on. I slowly put it on, only to not feel any pain on my palms. I remove the cloth, and there was nothing on my hand. It was like it just cleared every single cut and drip of blood on there. I didin't even realize I was staring at my hand until Stiles started talking.
"Are you okay?"
I quickly wrap the cloth back on my hand.
"Yeah, why?"
"You seemed kind of lost. Also are you hungry? I know this great place that is open 24/7, they have the best curly fries."
That kind of explains why his car and shirt smells like fries. But I was in fact starving.
"Yes."
I could see his smile with the corner of my eye, and I just laughed.
"You look really familiar, have we met before?" I asked, out of curiosity.
"Well, i-uh sit behind you in biology class. And we have been to the same elementary school, middle school and high school, I mean since the third grade."
He remembered that much? I must've been special if he knows we were classmates since then. Then something banged on the car. Multiple raindrops, and just when I thought this could turn out worse. Stiles started going at almost full speed, while my stomach was screaming to get fed.
"I'm sorry this is taking so long, I should probably just drop you off at home" He looked at me for a bit, his eyes quickly returning to the road.
"My house is on the other side of the town, I don't even know how I ran. this far."
He looked at me like he knew something, but I didin't question him, I was too tired to even bother wasting my time with stupid questions.
"I don't even know which route to take to get to your house"
"I don't know where we are so I can't tell you" He lets out a big sigh, and slows down the speed.
"When are we getting there? I am probably gonna die of starvation" I joked, I guess, and he laughed. His laugh was gentle, enjoyable and sweet. How come I didin't get to know him better sooner?
"I don't know, in like 8 minutes?"
That was wayyy too long, my stomach was practically eating itself at this point. The cold was annoying, making its way on my exposed skin, I felt bad for asking him for so much in such short time, but my feet were shivering horribly.
"Do you, by any chance have another jacket, or something?" I quietly asked, hoping he wouldn't hear me, but also would, that made litterally no sense.
"Uhh, yes actually. My girlfriend, Malia left her jacket here last week, and I forgot to give it back. Heh" He stopped the car for a bit and leaned towards the back seat to grab a dark blue coloured jacket, which he handed to me before starting the car again. I placed on my lap, still feeling cold, but a bit better.
Malia. He had a girfriend, so my question was answered, I mean why would he not, he's hot. Oh god, did I just realy think about that? Again? After flooding in my thoughts, I see a logo that was lit in a bright colour of yellow and red. I couldn't read the name.
"So, what do you want?" He asks me while grabbing his backpack from the back seat.
"Shit.Shit.Shit!" He kept repeating while aggresively rummaging trough his backpack.
"I-uh, don't have my wallet on me"
I was about to burst into tears, but I decided not to, it was not his fault, his friend called him probably in a rush, to come in the woods, in the middle if the night, because he heard a girl screaming. And then all of the sudden the rain starts getting heavier, every raindrop sounding like little tiny bullets hitting the glass. How the hell am I supposed to get home now!?
"I'm going to drive to my house, this jeeps gonna break before we can even get on the other side of the town"
"Is that just an excuse for you to take me to your house?"
"No, uhm-why wpuld you think that. You know I mean-I could call Scott, it's fine" He was stuttering like crazy, it was almost funny.
"No it's fine I was joking" He looked so relieved after I finish that sentence.I just smile and look at the window, one of his windshields was broken. And there it was, thunder. It was so loud, but it was like Stiles barely even heard it.
