A batty midnight stroll (Brain x Batty (werecreature au)

Brain's view
You may be wondering why I am in the woods in the middle of the night. Well that's a story worth telling! I was given a task by one of my fellow scientists to go find some bat DNA samples for a project I was working on and this was just the place. 'Is it supposed to be this foggy at night though?' I mentally thought to myself as I walked through the pine tree filled forest, syringes and a flashlight in my pocket at the ready. That's when I heard a loud squeaking noise in the distance that sounded like it could scare hundreds of birds out of a tree. "Who's there? Show yourself, creature!" I shouted as I pulled out my flashlight. I then flipped it to the nearest tree to find a owl. "Darn it, be a little less afraid, Brain or you might get a heart attack on of these days.", I mumbled to myself as I started to walk forward again. It wasn't before long when I heard the screech, but it was way closer. I stopped dead in my tracks and starred at a hill not far away. Then I saw it, a gremlin just like me...but something seemed odd about them. I stepped further slowly to catch a closer glimpse of the mysterious and beautiful figure to only notice it had what looked like a set of bat wings and some big ears. It then sniffed the air and quickly turned it's head around to look at me with glowing amber eyes. I tried to run, but it seemed my feet were stuck to the ground. The closer that thing got the more fearful for my life I was. The funny part of this is that it stopped right in front of me and tilted it's head like a confused puppy.

Batty's view
'What a handsome and good smelling stranger I found!' I thought to myself as I tilted my head at him. I then tried to ask him why he was so scared at the moment, but what actually came out were a series of small squeaking noises. Sometimes I wish I wasn't a werebat, so I could talk normally, but maybe if I show him some affection it'll calm him down.

Brain's view
The thing then started to sniff my face and it licked me! I have NEVER felt so violated in my scientific career! On the flip side thought, it didn't go straight for the kill, so technically this is a blessing. "H-hello, fellow bat gremlin...uhhhh...how are you on this fine night?"

Batty's view
He's talking to me now! That must be a good sign! Out of excitement I started to squeak happily and rub on his face like a cat when it's owner comes home. I've never had someone talk to me before.

Brain's view
I guess it likes me apparently and it's showing me affection, so I guess I'll ask what happened to turn it into a bat gremlin, or now that I think of it, I'll call it "Batty". "What happened that turned you into this?", I said. It then stopped what it was doing and with a sad look pointed at it's arm at what appeared to be a deep bite wound. "Ohhhh, so you're a werebat! I see. There, there, dear fellow." I said as I sat down for it to lay on my lap in a heap of sad squeaks. Is it just me or does this werebat look kinda cute?"

Batty's view
I lay down on his lap and let my sadness melt away as I felt his warm reptilian skin. Why was he all of a sudden so kind to me?

Brain's view
I was nearly on the edge of sleeping when I looked at my watch to see it was time for me to head back home. "Batty" I whispered to the sleeping werebat, "It's about time that I will be on my way." It then looked up at me with half lidded eyes and made a sad squeaking noise. The truth is I really wanted to stay with Batty.

Batty's view
But, I don't want him to leave me alone. I want him to stay here with me in the moment forever. Before I knew it I leaned up and kissed him on his lips.

Brain's view
Now that caught me by surprise! The thing kissed me! What surprises me the most about this was it's lips were surprisingly warm and I kissed back without myself telling me to do so. This little session lasted one minute before Batty pulled away with a soft blush on it's cheeks. I then laughed and said, "It's ok, dearest fellow. I might actually be back soon now that I think about it." That made Batty's face light up! We both got up and it hugged me while making happy squeaking noises. Batty then moved back to the hill before waving a shy goodbye and lifting off into the star covered sky. The rest of the trip home seemed like a daze when all of a sudden I remembered something...I never got that bat DNA sample.
