The paramedics came running towards me, well the dead me. They tried to resuscitate me and felt like yelling at them that I was already dead. But what's the point? They can't hear me. Nobody can. I think they already knew I was dead before they even attempted to help me but they were just doing their job. They eventually stopped and told my dad the news. He already knew I was gone but when they told him he broke down completely. I couldn't bare to see him like that so I turned around. But as I was turning around. I fell to the floor and blacked out.

                                                                   .................................

I woke up and at first I couldn't remember anything. But then everything came back to me and I let out a sigh. I was no longer at the crash but at what seemed to be an office. Strange. How did I end up here? Who knows? I don't care anymore. " Ahh Miss Brooke." I turn around to face a middle-aged woman with long straight brown hair, hazel eyes and a reassuring smile on her face. " Who are you?" I asked kind of rudely but she didn't seem to notice. " I'm Mrs Robert's but there's no time to talk about me, Mr Quinn  is waiting for you in his office." She took hold of my shoulder "Come on, I'll show you the way." She leads me down a long corridor finally turning into room 47.  There’s a man sitting at his desk who was about the same age as Mrs Roberts. He's got short brown hair and eyes the same as mine. Bright green but they weren't as sparkling as mine. If there's one thing I like about myself it's my eyes but that's about it.  I hate everything else, especially my light brown wavy hair which never does what I want it to. “Miss Brooke would you care to sit down” I hesitated but I sat down anyway. I started asking him loads of questions like, where am I, what am I doing here and all sorts that I wanted to know. “Miss Brooke, please calm down for a minute so I can tell you everything you need to know. First of all you are here so I can give you your task.” “Task? “ I questioned. “ You will need to complete your list within a year. Miss Brooke the list is very important and I suggest you take things seriously; otherwise you may not be able to keep your second life.” “Excuse me? Second life? What do you mean? Surely that’s not possible.” “Miss Brooke, I’ve got to tell you it is in fact possible. We have the power to do this.  Now here is your list.” He handed me a small piece of paper and it said;

1.     Find out who drove that crashed into the side of you causing your death.

2.     Once you find them you will need to prove to the police that they are guilty.

3.     Your mother is not dead as much as you think she is. Find her.

4.     Help your mother escape and report to the police.

5.     Find a best friend in your second life who will help you with your task.

6.     Do one crazy thing you have always wanted to do.

7.     Accomplish something very good at your new school.

8.     Convince your brother and sister that you are who you say you are. But tell nobody else apart from them. Otherwise your time will be shortened.

9.     Help save someone from being killed without getting killed yourself.

10.   Find true love.

My Mums alive? That’s not possible she’s been missing for a year now. Surely she would have come back to us if she wasn’t dead. “She’s alive believe it or not.” Mr Quinn told me. “Can you read my mind?” I asked. “I can give you another life, don’t you think I can read your mind.” He replied. True I thought. “Right next Mrs Roberts will take you to Miss Snow, where you will pick out your new look.” I said goodbye to him and went to the next room where I was greeted by a friendly young woman with long blonde curls and a big smile on her face. “Hello Emerald, I’m Miss Snow but you can call me Lilly. Ready to find the new you?” “Sure I guess.” She shows me a slideshow on her laptop of many different girls. She comes across a girl with scarlet long perfect curls and the same emerald green eyes as me. She’s quite tall and is very pretty. “I pick her.” I say quickly. “Ok now new name?” “I have to change my name? “Yes I’m afraid so.” “I think Tanya. Tanya Ashton.” Great, now you’ll be needing this phone and this bag and then your ready to go. Now you will be living on your own but if you may need parent to sign for something or confirm anything just give me a call.” “ok thank you.” “Bye Tanya.” She waved and once again I blacked out.

                                                 ........................

I woke up in a large room that I guessed to be my living room. It was quite cosy and I really liked it. I looked around and the house was nice. I peered out the window. I had no idea where I was so I’d have to explore outside later. But for now I’m going to see what’s in that bag. I opened it to find some maps, some paperwork for my new school, some notes on my background, nothing of much use. Great how exciting my new life is. Not.
