Good day or night to all, and thank you for choosing to read my fan fiction! I decided to write this because there's quite a lot of dystopian novel fan fictions set in high school (mostly Divergent and The Hunger Games), which was a concept I wanted to explore, so I did using Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman. Since some of the chapters will be relatively short, I'll be releasing one to two each week. Please keep reading, and perhaps comment, or vote!

Beep beep. Groaning, I turn my alarm clock off. Today is the first day of a new school year. Today is my first day at Scythe high school. I pull the covers off my cold body and dress in the outfit I laid out last night. Blue denim jeans, a white blouse, brown leather boots. In front of the bathroom mirror, I do my hair. A low ponytail. Simple, but not drab.
When I enter the kitchen to make breakfast, my mother is already there, eating cereal.
"Good morning, honey! Excited?"
"Uh hu" I reply, pouring a glass of orange juice. Although I would never in a million years admit this to anyone, I'm actually a bit nervous. But Citra Terranova is not a nervous person. I will know absolutely no one at this prestigious school that I've been accepted into. Oh well. The worst that could happen is being bullied, which has no effect on me at all. I don't have time for gossiping, giggling, flirting "popular" girls. I grab my breakfast, toast, and my canvas tote bag and head down the elevator from our apartment to the bus stop.
