The nightmares

NATASHA'S POV:

I smiled as Percy fell asleep while cuddling with Clint. It was just so adorable. My brother like best friend, and the kid who basically my son, cuddled up on the couch reading a children's book. I loved them both dearly and would do anything for them.
"Nat" Steve called out to me, I turned and smiled at him, he was in the kitchen,
"Yes stevie?" I asked, he rolled his eyes at the nickname and pushed a mug across the table. I walked over and picked it, it was a cup of straight black coffee, "thanks" I said before taking a sip.

"He's a good kid" Wanda said walking into the room "I'm sorry I didn't stay that long to talk to him... Fury needed me" she explained with a small smile,
"It's fine. You'll get more time to talk with him soon." I said with a small nod.
"Well tony, Thor and Bruce have already turned in for the night so I think it's time we all get to sleep... we have a big day ahead tomorrow" Steve said quietly.
"What do you mean 'big day'?" I asked, he just smiled slightly,
"We're going to make Percy's room... more like his room than an empty guest room" steve laughed "and the police want to know what happened To him.." I nodded
"Of course. But Percy will stay here when we talk to the police" I said.

"Of course" Wanda stepped into the conversation,
"We wouldn't do it any other way" Steve added "we don't want to overwhelm him" he said with a calm smile "Well I'm going to bed, I'll see you guys tomorrow morning" he turned on his heel and walked off to his room.

"Night Natasha, I'm gonna turn in for the night" Wanda smiled sleepily
"Ok, good night Wanda" I replied as she walked away. I sighed taking another sip of my coffee, I looked back over to the boys. Clint has fallen asleep as well, which is quite funny to be honest. With Percy hugging him like a koala, it's adorable.

I walked over picking up a blanket on the way over to them. I dropped the blanket over the two of them.
"Good night boys" I said as I leant down and kissed Percy's forehead. I then walked away and back to my room.

A/N POV:

Percy didn't sleep for long that night. He had dreamt about Gabe, he started to thrash in his sleep. His eyes felt like they were glued shut as he tried to wake up. With all the moving around and whining coming from Percy Clint woke up. He groaned and looked around trying to see what was going on until he realised it was Percy. He sighed quietly 'poor boy' he thought as he tried to wake him up.
"Percy... Percy" He said before hearing another whimper,
"Uncle Clinty?" Asked a quiet strained voice
"Yeah I'm right here buddy" Clint tried to be reassuring.

"Please don't let him get me..." Percy mumble as tears started to fall from his eyes,
"Don't let who get you?" Clint asked slightly confused,
"Smelly Gabe.." Percy hiccuped as he started to cry, Clint realised what he meant and pulled Percy closer and wrapped his arms around the small boy,
"Of course not.. he can't get you your safe here" he said as he started to rock back and forth slightly, trying to soothe the small boy.

"Hey FRIDAY, can you please get Natasha up and also light up the way to the kitchen" he called out.
"Of course Mr. Barton" Friday replied. As promised the lights in hallway lit up.
"Let's get you some got chocolate , how about that?" Clint asked standing up. Keeping a firm hold on Percy as he gently and soothingly rubbed his back. All he got was a small nod. But he started walking either way.

Natasha was sleeping peacefully in her bed before FRIDAY woke her up,
"What do you need?!" She asked as she checked the time 3:00
"Mr. Barton needs you in the kitchen.. young Persues seems to be have had a nightmare"
"I'll be right there" Nat said a she picked up a blanket from the floor and a jumper before running out to meet up with the boys.

Clint has reached the kitchen and set Percy down on the bench. He walked over to the cupboards grabbing the things he needed for hot chocolate.
"Clint? You in here" Nat called  when she got to the kitchen.
"Yep!" Clint replied. "Just making some hot chocolate" he added as he heard her footsteps. Percy day on the counter top with his knees held tightly to his chest. Tears still streaming down his face as he silently cried. Nat walked in and sighed when she saw Percy. She slowly walked over to him and smiled softly,
"Hey..." she said as she placed down the blanket and jumper which she had folded.

She noticed the blanket she had put in the boys earlier wasn't their. She she picked up her jumper and the blanket,
"Which one? Both or just one?" She asked calmly.
"Both.." Percy managed to say, she nodded and smiled as she helped him put on the jumper. It was a million sizes to big, so he had about another whole arms amount of space on the sleeves and it went down to his ankles. But he loved it anyways, this was what they usually did when Percy had a nightmare and they were around so she had known to bring it. She then draped the blanket across his shoulders.

"There we go" she said softly as she turned to see Clint walking over with two mugs of hot chocolate. He handed one to Nat and put Percy's beside him on the counter. He turned quickly to go get his own.
"We should let the hot chocolate cool down a bit"Clint said as he placed his own drink down next to Percy's.
"O-o-ok.." Percy mumbled his voice shaking.

"Let's go watch a movie.. what do you say?" Nay asked knowing that he would need a distraction, Percy perked up slightly, like a excited puppy.
"The little mermaid!!" He said, causing the two adults to chuckle. He smiled proudly at that and Nat nodded,
"Of course squirtle. Let's go get the movie on, Uncle Clinty will bring the hot chocolate" she sis da she's started to pick him up. Then walked back to the living room to sit on the couch.

"FRIDAY. Put on the little mermaid please" she said and FRIDAY did so. She smiled as Percy looked at the screen excited. Soon enough Clint walked in and handed them their drinks.
"Thanks" Nat mumbled and Clint nodded. By the time the movie was halfway through they had each finished their drinks and Percy was asleep. Nat smiles down at the boy in her arms
"He's so cute.." she said quietly and Clint nodded in agreement.

Clint wrapped his arm around Natasha's shoulders and she leaned into him slightly.
"Your the best brother I could ever ask for" she said quietly. Of course they weren't really brother and sister, but they saw each other as it either way.
"And your the sister" he countered she laughed slightly and shook her head,
"Good night.." she mumbled before closing her eyes. That night the three of them fell asleep cuddled up on the couch.

                         ~time skip~

Steve woke up early the next morning and went on his daily run. When he got back most of the team were up and in the kitchen, other than Nat and Clint.
"Where are the others?" He asked the group, Tony shrugged and the others all responded in a signaller way to 'I don't know'.
"Mr. Barton and miss Romanoff are in the lounge room  with Persues" FRIDAY replies
"Okay thank you" Steve replied and walked over to the living room.

He looked past the door way only to see Percy, Natasha and Clint cuddled up together on the couch.
"Guys you might want to see this" he called out to the others, they all came running to se what it was
"Oh my gosh they are so cute!" Wanda exclaimed,
"Aww.." could be heard from tony  "FRIDAY take a picture please" he added
"Of course sir" was the reply he got.
