Pic of Tegan off to the side ------------------------------------------------>

Jeraud

The ride home was unusually quiet. Tegan looked as if he had other things on his mind and Ivory was fast asleep in the back seat. Feeling a little bored and trying to get this idiot off my ass, I turn the stereo to Kiss 106. It was the new song "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz. Bobbing my head to the song, I turn my blinker on to switch lanes. Looking over at Tegan, I realize that he's staring at my sister in the rear view mirror. Seeing the sparkle in his eye, I look back at the road, a smile growing on my face. My best friend was falling for my sister. Thinking back on how Tegan defended her, I realized that he most likely only stopped punching Jeremy because he was scaring Ivory. Nothing or no one could stop him, but my sister had. Stomach growling, I look over at Tegan to see him smirking at me. "What are you looking at?" I asked grinning. "Nothing" he says, smiling openly now. "But apparently you need to put your granny glasses on, because uh, you just missed the turn."

My grin turning into a frown as I realize where we were, I say, "I knew that man. I was just testing you."

Pulling into a deserted driveway, I back out, to turn around. Punching Tegan in the arm, I say, "That's for saying I need granny glasses." Both of us laughing. I pull back out onto the road, only to stop at the red light. Seeing that Ivory was up, I look back at her. "Hey. You hungry?"

"A little. Where are we?"

"In town, I got a little distracted and missed the turn. How does Taco Bell sound to you?"

Watching a smile spread across her face, she says, "You're trying to get me fat aren't you?"

Looking completely innocent, I say, "never."

Pulling into the Taco Bell parking lot, I lock my car and we walk through the door. Ordering three 5-layer beefy burritos and three sodas, we sit down at a booth and chat about the old times. Tegan was telling us about how when he was ten, his six-year old brother would sneak into his room and sleep on the floor because he was scared of the dark and didn't want to sleep alone.

When Tegan was 17, his family had been murdered while he was away at a party. When he came home, he found his mother in the living room, his father in the back bedroom and his brother in his room, all slaughtered to death. Tegan had never been the same after that. That's when he started taking taekwondo classes and kick boxing. He wanted to make sure that he could protect the one's he cared about. Having him as a friend, I could always count on him to look after my sister if I wasn't able to. That's why I knew if Ivory and Tegan were to get together, I know she would be taken care of.

Ivory

Sitting at the booth, I took a bite of my burrito. Jeraud was sitting next to me and Tegan was sitting across from me. I knew that how I was feeling toward Tegan could have easily been explained. But for this to happen to a girl that's never had it happen before, I didn't know how to react. I didn't want to fall for Tegan, he could kill anybody without actually thinking about it, he could easily over take me if his anger surfaced. No. I don't think he would hurt me, but the physical strength he had was intimidating. I didn't know when it started to happen, but the feelings I have for Tegan is some sort of affection. It was like I loved him, but in a totally different way than I loved Jer.

Jer was a brotherly love, Tegan was some feeling I had no desire to examine any closer. What I felt frightened me, and having no one to turn to, I was even more scared than ever.
