Ivory
Sitting in my room that night, all I could think about was how I finally found someone worth loving, only to have him leave. What I said to both of them earlier was true, but the pain was still there. Bringing my knees to my chest, I wrap my arms around them and just sit there in the dark.
Feeling the tears spill down my cheeks, I touch a finger to one and look at it.
Before my parents had died two years ago, a week before Christmas, my mother had always taught me never to cry, that all it did was show how weak you were. Crying never solved anything; all it did was show how sad you felt inside. Angry that I could let some guy make me feel this way, I wipe away the tears from my eyes. Tegan was leaving and there was nothing I could do. Knowing it was no use dwelling on it, I hope he would have a happy life in Virginia.

NEXT DAY
Morning came in a darkened way. The sky was full of clouds and all of them were gray. Not just your about to rain gray, but the angry looking gray, as if there was going to be a storm. I guess it was matching my mood on how I felt today. Walking out of my room, I walk into the kitchen. Like any other morning, Jer was in the kitchen making coffee and Tegan was sitting on the couch, only this time they weren't laughing and making jokes. Giving my brother a small smile, I grab a mug from the cabinet and pour some coffee into it. I was determined not to let Tegan leaving get to me.
"So? Are we not going to talk because we had a little fight last night? Real mature you guys."
Rolling my eyes, I walk over to the coat stand and pull it on. "I'm going down to the river."
Pausing in the doorway when I hear Jeraud say, "Do you think that is wise? I mean you did fall into it a couple days ago."
"Yes, well I was rushing then, this time I won't be."
"OK. Well just letting you know, I'm taking Tegan to the airport in a half hour. Will you be fine here by yourself?" Jeraud asks.
"I'm old enough to take care of myself. I may not have acted like it before, but, well I've had to grow up a lot in these last few days." I reply.
Looking over at Tegan, I wait until his gaze meets mine. "It was nice seeing you again. I hope you have a nice trip and...." Feeling the tears well up in my eyes, I quickly finish by saying, "....bye."
Opening the door, I walk out into the frigid cold morning. Wrapping my coat tighter to me, I head for the trail. Finally making it down the trail, I take a minute to catch my breath, looking around I feel a shiver go down my spine as if I were being watched. It's just your imagination Ivory. Walking over to the bench, I sit down and stare out at the river.
Hearing the engine of a vehicle start, I look up the slope to see my brother heading back into the house, and Tegan loading his stuff into the back seat of the car. Seeing Jeraud come out of the house, I watch Tegan as he walks up to my brother. I couldn't hear what they were saying but when they do their handshake thing, I have a feeling Tegan apologized for how he acted. I knew Jer was still mad about the whole having sex with me then leaving thing, but at least they were getting along again.

Tegan
Looking down the slope, my eyes meet the gaze of Ivory. Feeling like an asshole, I look towards Jer. "Mind if I go and talk to her really quick man?"
"Nah. Just make it quick. We have to hit the road if you want to make it there on time."
Walking down the trail, I slow as I come up behind her. "Ivory I..." Not knowing what to say, I walk around to ware I'm in front of her. Kneeling down in the snow, I lift her chin up with my hand.
