Seraphina didn't know what to say. They spent the next few moments in a tense silence.

Aurora stared at her mom. Mom broke the ice, "Your anger is understandable. But I just didn't want to put stress on you."

"Do you think that you're the only person having the right to worry about my worries. I have no right. In your own troubles, I have not given as much right as daughters have in the property." Aurora removed her mom's hand from her shoulder.

Mom grasped her hand tightly, "No, it's not like that. I accept my mistake. I'm sorry, love. Please forgive me. You and Florence are my weakness. I don't want to see tears in both of your eyes." Aurora hugged her while crying. " You can fight with me, Aurora. You can complain or show anger, but don't give pain to yourself."

Aurora nodded. Mom continued, "Promise me, you won't let Florence know about it." Aurora agreed, and was continually crying. "Keep this file safe, " Mom said to her. Aurora set it down gently in the cupboard.

"Why have you kept it here? If Florence finds it, what explanation will I give to her?" Mom spoke.

"How long are you going to continue hiding it? You'll have to tell her sooner or later." Aurora came back towards mom and sat with her.

Mom exhaled a deep breath, "Have you seen her smile? It's the only cure I have for this illness. If I take that away as well, I might die much sooner."

Aurora started crying again, "For God's sake, please don't say such things. Besides, your reports are showing improvement."

"Yes, improvement is there. But my lungs are continually shrinking." Mom elaborated.

Tears dripped down Aurora's cheek. Mom consoled her," What are you doing? If you continue doing this then I will feel sorry that why did I even tell you about it."

"You are so brave, mom."Aurora finally spoke.

"Only God knows, how I've controlled myself for the last few months. Just trust in God. He'll make things easier." Mom recommended.

"Hope so," Aurora answered.

"In fact, God has already solved half of my worries. Otherwise, I would worry more about you and Florence's future then I was because of this illness." Mom yelled.

"What do you mean by?" Aurora asked.

"I just pray to God that He gives me enough time in this world to fulfil my responsibilities regarding you both," Mom answered, and then she stood and left to her room to get some rest.

Mom suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was in the fourth stage, or in other words the last stage. How could she be? Aurora didn't want to lose her. She loved her the most.

She was crying, laid on the bed in their room. The walls of the room were painted with whitish-cream colour, which gave quiet and fresh feelings, and covered with a brownish-yellow carpet.

There, on the wall, two framed photos of palm and date trees hung as it described the place where the house is located. In the room, there were two cosy beds with fine and smooth silk bed sheets, and purplish covered pillows with yellow and green flowers prints. Between the beds, there was a small dustbin and a side table that seemed like it was made from a bamboo tree, and there, on the table, was a dark lamp with its whitish cap, a book, a small china dish and a remote control to a tv.

As Florence entered the room, she wiped her tears.

Florence sat with her. Her eyes were swollen and red from crying. Normally, she didn't cry, causing Florence to ask her repeatedly about what had happened to her, but just kept changing the topic by saying that she had a headache.

Florence's phone beeped. She caught a glimpse of it, and then continued to ignore the calls, but the phone kept on beeping continually. She picked the call when the phone beeped for the fourth time.

"What's your problem? Why are you calling me again and again?" Florence welcomed the person calling with her questions.

"I'm not interested in you. You think you are very important to me, that's why I am calling you repeatedly," Troy answered in the same tone.

"I don't think about you," she replied and stood to leave the room. She didn't want to fight in front of Aurora and stressed her.

"What do you think? That I will call you just for you? I have something important to talk to you about, "He spoke.

"Just tell me quickly, why you called me? I'm busy right now, " She answered.

"Talk to me in manners. I'm not habitual to this attitude, Ms. White." He responded.

"I'm also not habitual to call by someone again and again." She answered in the same tone. "Plus I don't want it to be habitual for you to call me again and again."

"It's quite clear," Troy grinned.

"What do you mean by that?" she suspiciously asked.

"No one would ever consider you of enough importance to call you again and again, which is why you have no manners. Neither do you have any idea how to talk to someone." He squeezed the words out through his teeth.

"What do you..." she tried to speak.

"What do you think of yourself? How many times do you ask this? By now, you should know what I think about myself. Anyways, I don't like the tone in which you respond, that's why I won't tell you the reason of my call. I won't call you again. You will call me back," he answered, barely controlling his laugh.

"Okay, but I don't think I need to call you," she steamed in anger from his speech, but tried to calm her nerves and answered determinedly.

"Let's see, bye," he greeted.

"Goodbye," she answered and cut the call.
