The moment I saw him, I jungled in conflicting thoughts whether to leave or stay. He was sitting alone as his eyes raped me.
"Hey miss!" the security called seizing my attention from Aydan who looked at me, no expression attached. "Can I help you?" He asked.
"No. I found who I was looking for. Thank you." I lied faking a smile. I was looking for someone but not an Aydan.
Maybe this was an opportunity to get an explanation on how he knew my name.
"Hey!" I forced a smile and he half smiled back. He had water in front of him and ran his eyes through the menu immediately after giving me less attention.
What did I expect?
"You're...."
"Sit down." He interrupted me rolling his eyeballs upward, looking at me with all seriousness.
I forced myself to sit after he rudely asked me to and saying I was uncomfortable would be an understatement.
We placed our orders and none of us said anything after that.
"About my name..." his phone rang and I suddenly stopped asking him how he got to know my name.
"Why didn't you show up? You told me you was coming." He blew the question directly to whoever he was talking to over the phone. He constantly rolled his eyeballs listening to its response.
"Whatever. Have fun." He rudely said hanging up. I fought the laughter that threatened to burst out at the thought of him being as pathetic as me. It was relieving to know an not the only lonely one. I also did not expect at apology for his manners because it was no actual date. We where simply two pathetic humans who needed company.
"Your girlfriend?" I asked knowing he would snap at me but not as I thought.
"Yeah." He answered sending a cut of pizza into his mouth. We continued eating in silence when a brown skin girl in short leather skirt approached us with some guy by her. He had a stylish hair cut and piercings on his ears .
"Are we interrupting something?" She arched a brow
"No." Aydan responded quick enough assuring they could join us.
"She didn't show up?" The guy laughingly mocked sitting beside me.
"Zuggy." He told me with a nice smile.
"Morgan." I smiled back while Aydan improved his seriousness for no just reason.
"You!" The brown skill girl pointed from the other side of the table
"Myra!" Zyggy called out in attempt to stop her.
"What? I just remembered she's the girl Aydan helped the last time he left our apartment." She stated her recognition clear enough. I wonder how many more people knew me from that day.
"So fast in having a date." She said and cupped her mouths in realisation of what she said just after the words tumbled.
" A... friendly... date?" She nervously added in attempt to get Aydan's gaze off her.
"So, you live off campus?" Zuggy changed the topic before I could think of a comeback while I used water to force the already sour food in my mouth.
"Yeah." I forced a smile
"Morgan Cyrus. Right?" Myra asked and my face instantly got pale. Only God knows what she was going to say to make me more uncomfortable.
"Yes. Why?" I asked looking straight at her.
"Nothing." She said her order arriving. " I just remembered a crazy audition by one Morgan Cyrus. But thank God she made it." She mocked raising her shoulders innocently to cheek level.
I fought the tears that threatened to drop and looked at Aydan who seemed to be concentrating on his meal. The night was finally crowned torturous and the was nothing more left in me as strong. Being reminded of my failures was painful enough for me to still be there.
"Uhmmm... I should leave now." I stood up as Zuggy apologetically squeezed my hand beneath the table. I made my way to the door unable to battle with Aydan about the bills, so I agreed to his offer.
"You're evil." I heard Zuggy curse Myra.
I boarded a cab home and regret filled me for ever thinking joining Aydan was a good idea. No one in AMDA was nice enough to call a friend. I felt so. They where rude, snobbish and everything you could think of.
I clicked my door open and moved in. It was dark and kelsy wasn't home. I switched the lights on and jumped on my bed. Changing was an option. There was no strength for that.
I called Daphne but she had left a voice message saying she was busy. Probably working on a case and I knew calling mom means making her come over tomorrow so, I forced my self to sleep tears rolling like a compulsory occurrence soaking my pillow.
