Only Human | O N E

It's been two months and six days since Evelyn found me, well we found each other I am still in wolf form and she's in the kitchen making us both dinner. She tried feeding me dog food and I refused so she makes me a blow of whatever she cooks. Evelyn lived alone and I was grateful that I didn't have to kill anyone had a man been with her. She's mine and no one else's.
There were times I thought back on a time when I was Alpha of my pack and I don't miss it when I looked at her.

Evelyn.

I learned her name from this one female friend that she has that visit her every Tuesday. They always talk about her need to have a boyfriend, someone, to love and protect her, and that made me want to bite her friends head off I didn't need her giving Evelyn any ideas. I'm her mate she should want only me. Later that night I decided to leave and change into human form. I ran for miles until I found it. The safe house that I had made. It wasn't far from where I was almost hit by Evelyn's truck. I'm completely healed now so it was easier to go to the safe house I had made when I was still Alpha of my old pack. A pack where I'm sure that everyone thinks I'm dead. The safe house had everything I need. Money food, clothes, and most importantly a place to sleep. Being back in human form felt weird and it was like I'm in some kind of dream state. I felt bad that I left Evelyn, but I also couldn't shift back in front of her either.

Staying in human form I walked back to the spot where her truck almost hit me and there she was.

" Blue eyes where are you?! "

She yelled.

She was looking for me. She must think that here is my home. Not thinking I called out to her.

" Evelyn. "

Hearing my voice she turns to look at me. She has tears running down her face and it took everything in me not to go to her. She wipes her eyes and asked

" Do I know you? "

I wanted to say yes but now wasn't the time. So I quickly made up a lie.

" The wolf you found belongs to me and I took him home. "

Her face lights up when she learns that I'm okay.

" Where is he? "

She asked looking around.

" He's at my house, just up the track."

Evelyn walks passed me and begins walking up the track that led to my safe house. Inwardly curse myself because I was wondering how I was going to be two places at once. I didn't think my lie through properly. On the walk back to my safe house I was thinking I should just shift in front of but I'll explain first. Evelyn and I got to the safe house and then I asked her inside 

" Come in. "

She comes in quickly searching for me.

" Where is he? "

She demands.

" You're looking at him. I'm blue eyes."

I say, not caring how crazy it may have sounded to her. When she said nothing I continue to explain.

" I'm the wolf you almost hit with your truck. I was wounded yes but it wasn't because of you. My name is Lucas Hale, I'm a werewolf and the Alpha of Clearwater pack. "
