Chapter 3: Adding a New Best Friend?

I woke to find myself still in Jack's arms. His grip around me was warm and tight but loose enough that I could still feel free to move around. I sat up straight in the bed. My motion woke up Jack.

"Hey," he said in a tired voice. "What time is it?"

"It's 2:30" School was just about over and if we were to drive back school would already be done.

"Okay." He looked at me with conflicted eyes.

"What?"

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Thanks again for letting me stay. I really hate Willow. She never leaves me alone. I don't know what I did to her. Why I deserve it." Jack grabbed and pulled me softly next to him.

"Tell me what you love?"

"Like it? I love it! Thank you so much!"I was still holding on to him when my phone buzzed.

It was from mom:
Mom-
Get home please. I have to show you something very important.

"I have to go. My mom wants to show me something. I'll see you at school tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Make sure to be safe. Okay?"

"Otay." I grabbed my bag and he lead me to his door.

"Bye" he said and hugged me.

"Bye." I turned and left. I heard him close his door and I was off in the light, cool New York air.
