The sun no longer shined the bright gold of past generations. It had grown old over the years, as all things did. It now sat in our sky like an angry red eye staring down at humanity, watching our final days past. Death circled the homes of every citizen world wide. Our planet was dying, and it seemed to be taking humanity out with it.

The sickness came fast, and unrelenting. It spread from town to town without fault. Soars covered bodies in angry red dots that burned and itched but no one, not even the government could fathom what would happen next. People were dying, choking on the very air that they had been breathing their whole life. Mothers lost their kids, and kids lost their parents. No one was safe. No one could escape the terrible deaths surrounding their fated world. At least that's till the monsters proved the world wrong.

People have always been afraid of what they don't understand. We don't like change, we don't like people that are different. This can be seen all throughout our history as a society, and it is no different now.

The first documented monster was a young boy. He was sick, and destined to die quite like the rest of his family. The doctors left him for the night, even knowing they'd likely find him dead in the morning. Alas, they had patients to treat, and could not be held captive by the child's ill fate. As dawn broke the next morning and doctors came to grab the body of the boy. They noticed something quite peculiar. No longer did the boy have the angry red welts that signified death. Instead his skin was etched with swirls of scars lacing up and around his whole body. While this was peculiar indeed it was no cause for concern. It should have been celebrated because he was alive, he was breathing, and he would have a future. Unfortunately, the doctors did not concur with that sentiment.

The boy who would have been mourned, had now turned into a human lab rat. Traded from the hands of doctors around the world. The more he was studied, the more they feared him, and as word got around the world too began fearing these monstrous people that now roamed their society with them. The government put out execution orders, bounties to kill any inhuman like creature. They were afraid of the people that were once just like them, and they feared more than ever of becoming like those creatures.

So, the government began scheming, and building. They shutdown roads and streets, urging people to stay in their homes, as the construction began. Large domes were built around the worlds largest cities. With filtered air, and promised safety to all its citizens. What they didn't say was that anyone outside of these cities was left for dead. In the beginning days people could hear the pounding of fists echoing off the walls of the constructed dome. Could hear the weeping mothers pleading with the government to take their children, to help them.

Slowly, over the course of months, those cries died out. The planet had turned toxic, killing everyone in its path who was not immune to its poisonous air. The world had divided, the humans, and the monsters. For years and years it was just that, no one left the domed cities, and anyone who did likely died on the spot. The monster grew in their own peaceful society out in the wilderness, calling themselves by different tribal names. They adopted their own form of living, learning to hunt, and survive on
the outskirts of the world. Throughout these years of exile they still evolved, growing canines, and pointed ears, they were now supernaturally advanced in every way.

The society noted these evolutionary advances, and they didn't like this sudden change in hierarchy. Suddenly, the domed city was no longer as great as all their ancestors implored. They were too tight, there were too many people, and not enough space. They wanted more, they wanted land, and they wanted power.

The government agreed and the society sent out their own doctors, and scientists into the cruel, wrecked world. Fully bedecked in suits that protected them from the radioactive air, they were sent to study the beasts and how they had evolved. It was not part of the plan to capture one of the said beasts, but when one of their offspring had slipped through the bushes to find the scientist they had no choice but to bring it back with them to the domed society. It was then that they devised a plan, in order for them to gain ground on the monstrous creatures, they had to create a creature of their own. Using the boy as ground zero for their experiments they got to work creating their own personal monster.
