Nova's head was spinning a hundred different directions, one moment she was against the Advoi and the next she was working with them. Her body screamed at the sentiment. She was going against her very nature to work with these creatures instead of the white coats. If she was found out then it would mean her death, but the thought of the freedom this Adovi was offering was just enough for her to take this chance.

"Tell me what I need to do." She was swift with her words. She wanted this, wanted it more than she'd wanted anything in a very long time. She bowed her head to him in respect, as an apprentice would a scholar, "Teach me your ways, and the ways of your people and I vow to live the rest of my life serving your father. So long as I get the kill I deserve. I want all the white coats dead." Her mismatched eyes leveled his, it was the only way to guarantee her safety and future. She'd have to kill every last one of them. "I want them to see the monster they created as I rip out their throats with my claws." A small growl escaped her at the words, "So tell me what I must do, Reyn, and I will do it." They took a small mouse and forced it to be a lion. They did not take into consideration what would happen if she decided to throw away her humanity entirely, and that was exactly what she was preparing to do.

His blue green eyes studied her for a long moment judging if she really was deathly serious about this. Then, with no words spoken, he grabbed her by the hand and led her off the balcony and towards the gardens located in the back of his small apartments. They crossed through an open field, practice dummies ;itering the grass. Then, further into the overgrown part of a garden where huge stone walls carved through a mountain pass, and right into a maze. "First lesson. I hope you paid attention on the way in here because it is up to you to find your way out. Each time you hit a dead end there will be a negative consequence. But there are also two exits. One leading back to the apartment which is where we came from and one leading to the edge of my father's estate." He crossed his arms over his broad chest. "The trials are to separate the weak from the Adovi. They are also a test of your mind, and your spirit."

Nova turned in a small circle. Each turn and corner looked identical to the next, and she silently cursed herself for being so wrapped up in her head. She took a slow step forward, glancing up to Reyn who was standing high about her on the stone wall. Initially, she too, tried to climb up the thick vines to get a vantage point, but he expressed very certainly that it was cheating and would help her in no way. It'd help me get out, she'd said in retort. He'd just snickered and waved her forward.

Nova glanced to the sky, the sun was still low in the sky to the east. Her brain logged that information away even as it wracked for details on how exactly to get out of the maze. She'd done mazes before, it was a crowd favorite amongst the white coats. Except it was usually dark, and a lot more bloody. A cold shiver ran up her spine. She clenched and unclenched her fists. She couldn't fail the first test she'd been given. Earlier in the manor when she'd looked out the window the sun hadn't been showing, so that meant the manor had to be facing east.

Nova's heel dug into the dirt as she spinned on it to face east. So far so good, she thought to herself right before hitting a fork in her path. A fork that did not point east. A curse welled up in her as mixed eyes glanced back and forth. She silently prayed to the gods that never listened and turned right. The path seemed to go on forever and Nova was becoming fairly confident in her move as it straightened out to face east again. A stone wall greeted her on her next turn and she cursed auditably this time just before a small click sounded in her ears. Small needles, like pins, shot from the walls in rapid succession. Nova barked in pain as three pierced her through her clothes before she was able to dodge out of the way. They were big enough to cause her pain, but not big enough to do any real damage. She darted from the alley with haste, quickly returning to the fork in the road. She stopped a moment to yank the small puns from her being and groaned even as her skin began to stitch itself back together. She glanced up at Reyn, a shadow in her own personal hell. He grinned at her as if to say I told you there'd be consequences, she greeted his grin with a beautiful obscene gesture. He chuckled, and she stopped to the other side of the pathway.
