Nick's PoV:

Opening my eyelids seemed to be the tedious task of the moment. Though I regained consciousness, I was unable to open my eyes. I tried lifting my hand and slightly moved a finger.

Instantly I heard someone shriek. "Tyler's awake! People, look here, our man is not dead!"

Waking up from an injury to hear the news that I hadn't expired, was really comforting.

"Have you made funeral arrangements ready?" I grunted as I sat up on the bed and. My vision zoomed out and everything seemed to be blurred. I strained my eyes to squint and gradually retrieved my sight.

I gazed across the room to find Em but I found only my teammates. Alex, Josh, Alan, Ed and John were at the bedstead. They didn't look worried. Instead they were prepared in a stance to murder me. Eventually they did by falling on the bed and squeezing me in a hug.

"Ouch..guys stop..couldn't breathe..Ouch my shoulder hurts" It was then I noticed my arm was completely bandaged from the shoulder to the elbow and cast in a sling. Nevertheless, they kept crushing until they could rip my arm off my shoulder.

An elderly nurse entered the room and was astounded by the coup d'etat that was taking place, "Oh..no. Boys what are you doing? He needs rest. Hey ginger let go of his arm" she screamed at Josh, who was red haired and was tugging my arm at the moment. All of them left the room at her bellows, leaving me alone.

I was glad the nurse came, for I would've literally been dead if she had been a minute late. I anticipated Em to enter the room soon as I was awake. Bitter disappointment congested my thoughts on not finding Em anywhere.

"Gentleman, do you feel any discomfort at your shoulder?" The nurse questioned, probing at my shoulder.

"No, I'm fine." I said bluntly

She smiled approvingly, "Young man, nothing to worry, it was just a minor dislocation of the shoulder, you are in a piece and fit to be discharged."

Soon as she uttered that I could be discharged, I was on my feet to seek Em.

What if my father does anything bad to her?

I shook my head in denial.

No, I wouldn't let anything happen to her.

My tread became slower. My head was thrown into a fit of vertigo. I still kept moving amidst my nauseousness. The shot of painkiller was wearing off, generating a searing pain at my shoulder. My steps fumbled and I almost fell at the entrance of the room. Before I could hit the ground, a pair of strong arms held my shoulder.

It was none other than Rich. He looked truly concerned. "Nick, I'm really sorry. I should have been loyal as a friend but believe me, I never did anything wrong. I know who you are looking for. Give me a chance. I will take you to her and make things right." Rich sounded genuine. I had been with Rich for more than twelve years, so giving him a chance wouldn't hurt. I nodded in reply.
