Kameron came in the next day with a bright smile. She hugged me and pulled me out the door.
"Where are we going shopping again?"
"I was thinking the mall. Unless you wanna buy something from a smaller store?"
"I am going to dad's premiere."
"Mall it is."
We drove to the big outlet mall and went to almost every clothing store. When we got to this brand new store, we found a really pretty white dress that went to my mid-thigh and was strapless. I tried it on, and we both fell in love. I looked really pretty, and she even found the perfect shoes to match, they were also white and were about four inches high. The heels were to die for. She wanted to pay, but of course I refused. She finally convinced me to let her pay for lunch. So we went to a fast food place and ate in a small booth.
When we got home, we watched some random show and talked about what we have been doing this past year.
"Well college is really great. It gets pretty cold up there though,"she said rolling her eyes.
"How are the people there?"
"They're really nice. The guys especially."
"And cheerleading?"
"It's great! I'm a flyer and everything! I'm one of the best girls on the team!"
"Wow!"
"Now what about you?"
"I'm still running."
"Yeah you've always been good at doing that."
"And an old lady complained to me about rude teenagers."
"Fun."
"And Josh talked to me."
"Nerdy Josh?"
"Nerdy Josh,"I confirmed.
"Aww I'm sorry."
"About a month ago...I got another letter. From...Mason..."
"What did it say?!"
"He said that he loved me. The usual...I just wish he didn't really go to be in the navy..."
"He did it for you, you know this."
"I don't understand why. He didn't need to. He didn't have the right to do that."
"He wouldn't let you destroy your dreams for him...but I guess you could say he left for nothing..."
"Kameron, I told him before he left that I couldn't go to college just yet. I told him, pleaded him, to stay with me. He already made his decision. I told him I'd go to college in a year."
"I know."
"Then I don't understand why you always complain that he sends you letters."
"I don't complain..."
"Okay. Whatever."
She got up from the couch and waved her hand goodbye. I smiled and rolled my eyes and waved back. She walked out the door leaving it open. Who keeps the door open?! That is like rude beyond rude!
"Love you too!"I got up and slammed the door shut.
