Five weeks ago, I had a some what normal life. Then one day it all changed in the blink of an eye. That day started a little like this:
I was sitting against my tree in the school courtyard when I heard my name.
"Lainey! Lainey!" I see a young boy, about 16 years old with a girl about his age. The boy had dark hair and sea green/blue eyes, just like me. The girl had blonde hair and stormy grey eyes.
The boy bends over, leaning on his knees gasping, "Lainey, we gotta go."
"W-who are you?" I stutter.
He shakes his head and the girl speaks, "Lainey, we don't have time to explain that, you just have to come with us."
"Can I at least get some names?" I ask, like that's so hard.
Then I hear the growl. The girl grabs the boy's and my hand, "no time."
There's a blinding flash and I fall hitting some kind of marble floor. I see the boy laying to my right and the girl beside him. I jump up, "No, no, no. Take me back now."
"Do you really want to go back to your life?" The girl gets up and stares into my eyes, searching my soul.
"What are you talking about?" I ask defensively.
She rolls her eyes, "Lainey, don't try me. I know about what your "parents" do to you."
"Why did you say parents like that?"
She can't answer due to the new voice in the room, "Lainey? Is that you? My daughter!"
"Your daughter?" I question, "who are you people? Where am i?"
The boy finally stands and puts a hand on my shoulder, "Lainey, you're on Mount Olympus. I'm Percy, that's Annabeth."
"And I'm Poseidon," the voice says, then reveals it's owner, "your father."
"I'm your brother," the boy named Percy states.

So yeah that was the day my life changed. It took an hour for Poseidon, my father, Percy, my brother, and Annabeth, my new best friend, to make me believe it. Yeah its crazy, but I wouldn't leave crazy for abuse and neglect any day of the week.

It's been absolutely insane lately, I can't even begin to describe everything.

I was free to roam the palace and meet the God's and Goddesses. I wanted to find my mother, but I didn't know who she was or anything about her. All I know is she is a goddess. Poseidon refused to tell my who she was though. The curiosity drove me crazy. I had recently tried blackmailing Percy into telling me but he knew nothing, we have different moms. I had gotten really close to Percy and he kind of looked out for me. He was 16 years old and so was I. I had also become best friends with his girlfriend Annabeth, Daughter of Athena. She was also 16. But they were both always away, saving the world while I was here, training. My personal favorite person of those I've met is the messenger god, Hermes. We both shared a love for playing tricks on people, only he had an obsession.

A week ago, I turned 16. At my birthday celebration four days ago, Hermes pulled me to the closest room as we watched our latest prank unfold.

Hermes rigged some water balloons to magically explode at the snap of his fingers. It was going to be hilarious, mostly because there wasn't water in the balloons.... it was sea serpent spit, slightly acidic. A little toxic to mortals but funny to The god of trickery that was standing beside me, watching with a smile of anticipation. It was really cute.

We were watching and waiting in the hallway, Hermes looked at me grinning, "you ready Lainey?"

I smile back, "do it."

He snapped his finger and dozens of balloons exploded, sending sea serpent spit all over the ballroom, and all over the stuck up gods and goddesses in there. Some even splattered into the hall where we were standing.

Then something happened. Hermes slipped while he was still holding my wrist. So when he fell, I went with him. I landed right on top of him, and kissing him accidently. I mean, it started out as an accident.... but neither of us pulled back.

Someone squealed, then we pulled away. A servant had seen us. I look at Hermes, who I was still sitting on, "great. Now we have to explain."

"No no no." He gets his wild grin back, "lets have some fun with this."

"What do you mean?" I ask, not following.

He rolls his eyes, "lets pretend we have a thing and fool everyone in this stupid palace."

My brow furrows as I weigh the possibilities of this little prank. After I second I decide to go with it, "lets do it."

"Hey, there's a guard." He says and kisses me without warning.

When he pulls back I scrunch my nose, "that's gonna take some getting used to."

He smirks at me, "shut up. You know you love it."

"I never said that."

"You never denied it either."

I stick my tongue out at him, earning myself a wink from him. I gotta admit, my stomach did a quick flutter. No. No, I don't like him. I don't.......
