For many years, the lost princess and the revived sorceress lived in peace, quiet, adventure and love. They neglected parenthood, however. Not that they lacked the means, quite the contrary actually, but it was simply by choice.
This haven, unfortunately, was not meant to last.
Fifteen years after the Nameless Girl found a name and the Dragon Unseen was finally seen, the King of Galvin sent guards to the far end of the Kingdom, and some of them eventually set foot in the ruined castle that had once hidden an imprisoned girl and a roaring dragon.
Danae did not fight the guards, and honored her duty with wise acceptance. She accepted her destiny like the woman who had lived all she had ever dreamed of, and bore no regret. And so, she left off to the Kingdom of Elesther to marry the king, but not without some last words to the sorceress that had been far more than her companion for many years.
"Always remember this, Kiryana. It has started with the fire of hatred and envy. It shall ends with tears of remorse and compassion. I beg of you, make sure that the flame never dies. Do you hear me? Never."
And so, Kiryana, ever so cold and composed, lay a hand on the princess' belly, and a pure aura of blue and red light shimmered in and out of it.
They exchanged one last smile that encompassed all the feelings and emotions they wished to share, for no last words were needed for that, and Danae left with the servants of her kingdom.
When she arrived in Elesther, she was greeted by the fair, amiable King Alois. She very quickly grew fond of him. Never in love, but she did hold great respect and tenderness for this man who would move mountains to satisfy his queen and kingdom.
She found that, once again, her sister Diane had lied to her. People in Elesther were no prettier than others. Each day, she would dream of discovering a silhouette as beautiful as a certain blue witch whom she could never forget. She wondered what had happened of Kiryana, and thought the sorceress must be living retired from the world in an old, crumbling fortress, waiting for the Wings of Death to close around her.
Danae was soon bearing a child, and when she gave birth, the whole castle burst into flames. The Queen of Elesther, former princess of Galvin, however, only smiled. The dragon inside her was never tamed, and it now lived inside her child.
With her death, she had given away her fire and on to her daughter. Now it was her turn to bear the gift of Fire.
When she drew out her last breath, she prayed that the flame would never die, however she could not guess that one day, her wish would come true.
The End
