You yawned and stretched your arms when you woke up, and looked around your room in the tardis. You were on the floor, and Uno cards were scattered around the room. You looked over to your left and saw the doctor sleeping on the floor, cuddling your stuffed polar bear, george. You smiled, remembering last night.
The doctor had come into your room wanting to play uno, but you were in the middle of a really good story, so you declined. He had bothered you until you agreed to play with him. You had stayed up late, paying uno and talking with the doctor until you both feel asleep.
You smiled looking over at the doctor, he looked really cute sleeping, his face relaxed, and adorably hugging George tight to his chest. He yawned and sat up, his hair sticking up in weird places, his bow tie crooked, and his jacket on the other side of the room. His messy appearance made you blush, you found it quite cute. "Good morning Y/N." He said, and got up and walked over to the door. "Get dressed, and then I'll take you somewhere for breakfast."
"Okay." You replied as he left, and sighed. Last week the doctor found out about how you felt about him. You didn't want to tell him because you knew even if he felt the same way it couldn't work. Even if he could be with you for the rest of your life, you wouldn't be there for the rest of his. You knew he would be heart broken when you left him in your old age, and you were worried what would happen to him after you were gone. You couldn't bear to see him hurt, even more so if it would be your fault. You finished getting dressed and walked into the console room where the doctor was waiting for you.
"Ah! There you are Y/N! Come on,let's go!" The doctor said, smiling like a child on Christmas. You laughed and ran out of the tardis with him. You looked around confused. You were home, not just earth home, but at your actual house, in your backyard. "Doctor, why are we here? I thought you said we were getting breakfast?" "There's breakfast waiting inside, but first take this, its a gift." The doctor said, handing you a small box. You held the wood box in your hands, examining it. You opened it and saw a bow tie next to a piece of paper. You were about to ask the doctor about the gift when you heard a noise that would crush your heart. You turned around to see the tardis dematerialize, leaving you behind. The wind whipped your hair in your face, and the sound of the tardis rang in your ears. You felt your eyes water, and it became hard to breath. "Y/N! Breakfast is inside!" You turned around to see your mom walk back inside the house. This was the day you left with the doctor. You ran up to your room and looked the door. You took out the note and the bow tie, and started to read it.
Dear Y/N,
I'm sorry, I know you won't like what I did, but it will be better this way. I was going to tell you, but I knew you would try to stop me. This is the last you'll see the last time lord. Just remember, you were and always will be, my companion, by best friend, but most of all, the most important person in the universe, throughout all of time and space. Don't forget that Y/N.
P.S
Wear the bow tie for me would you? Bow ties are cool. Trust me, I'm the doctor.
You felt tears roll down your face remembering the time lord. You couldn't help but laugh at the last part of the letter though, and you picked up the purple bow tie from the box. You swore to yourself right then, you would never forget the doctor, and wear the bow tie for him. For your Doctor.
Five months later, you were in your room, when the doorbell rang. You went downstairs and opened the door to see the doctor. You stood shocked for a while, then hugged him. You could hear his heart beat, and you whispered "I missed you. Why did you g-" Wait. Heartbeat. Only one heart. You looked at him confused, until he looked back at you and said:"I'm human." Your hand went up to your mouth in shock as you gasped. "I knew I couldn't be with you if I was a time lord, it just wouldn't work. But if being human meant I could be with you, I knew it would be worth it. I would do anything for you Y/N. I love you." You started at him in shock. You were having a hard time possessing what was happening. "You gave up being a time lord, regenerating, a long life, two hearts, just to be with me?" You whispered. "Yes." When the doctor said that you knew, this showed, that he really did love you back. You put your hands behind the doctors head and pulled him into a kiss. He kissed back and you felt yourself start to blush. "I love you too." You whispered back.
Extended ending!
10 years later
You woke up, but were to tired to open your eyes. It was you Christmas eve, and you were laying on the couch next to the doctor, and you could feel the heat from the fire place. The doctor was holding Evelyn, your six month old child. You could hear the doctor softly hum the tune to 'have yourself a merry little Christmas.' You fell back asleep to the doctors humming. When he finished the song he leaned over and kissed your forehead. "Merry Christmas Y/N."
What did you guys think? I would love to hear from you or get suggestions on how to make my stories better. Thanks for reading!
