Riley and Maya's story

Chapter three

It was getting near eight o'clock and I've never seen Riley in a situation like this. Should I tell her? I walk straight to her room after thanking Mrs.Matthews for a lovely dinner. I knock on her door. "Who is it?" She replies and I can tell from her voice she wasn't in her happiest mood. "Maya." I say in the tune that I always say my name when I buzz to go in the home. "Come on in" she tells me. "I'm not gonna be stuck up about this because I know that you will tell me when the right time comes." Riley said in her normal tone. "I promise I'm gonna tell you. Farkle doesn't want anyone to know yet Riley. I'm sorry." Riley looks at me as if the whole world was under control again. We live in such a dark place. "Well I'm going to get changed and get ready for bed. Thinking of joining me!" I tell her. She nods and we head to separate bathrooms. I spent all night thinking of how to tell Farkle to let me tell Riley. But night passed by too quickly.mit was about 7:30AM when Riley shook me. "Maya get up its not weekend anymore. We have school." She whispers as I slowly get up. "Sure looks like you got up a long time ago. Your all dressed and readying." I reply.
"I do the unexpected." Riley says with a wink and we both start to laugh.
After about ten minutes we go to the kitchen and see two bowls of cereal and a note. The not read "Riley Maya I left this cereal for you because I had to run to a lawfirm. Sorry for not being here with you this morning. Your father is at school. Be safe on the subway! -mom" but it looked like Auggie wrote it based on the handwriting. "lets go" riley said. "we are going to be late and miss the subway. we rushed out and got to school right when the bell rang.
Mr.Matthews started to teach at exactly at 8:30 as he always does.
"Good morning class." he says as riley and i settle in front of Lucas and Farkle.i sat in front of Lucas and Riley in front of Farkle. "i hope you guys rested during this weekend because we have to get started immediately. Todays lesson is about friendship and truth. who agrees that everyone needs a friend by their side." after he says this a great amount of hands go into the air. then he continues. "Friends are there through rough times. For this reason its very important to tell them the truth and to never hide anything from them." Farkle raises his hand. "yes Farkle." Mr.Matthew says "One friend was there for me during lunch when some others where hurting my feelings. and she defended me." then Farkle looked at me and i looked at him and Riley probably got the idea of what i was hidding. Then Mr.Matthews continued "Yes Farkle i know. But do your other friends know?" Farkle looked speechless when Riley raised her hand. "May I be excused." Corey shook his head and when Riley got to the door
she said "I want Farkle and Maya to come with me." Farkle and i looked at eachother then walked slowly towards her and out the classroom.
