Life is good. Kind of. Maybe. Urghhhhh why am I so sappy in the mornings? Maybe because I am dating only the cutest most annoying most adorable boy ever. Who loves calling me boo. Annoying, right? But kinda cute. Never ever say that to him, I mentally remind myself.
"Ok, time to pull yourself together Di Angelo!" I say to no one in particular. I pull on a hoodie and some jeans and walk out of my cabin. Well, the Hades cabin but I am the only one in it, thanks to dear old dad.
I am met with a strange scene laid out before me. All the campers sitting in a circle, no one is smiling, some are crying. "What is going on?" I ask apprehensively.
Annabeth is standing in the middle and turns toward me. "People are.. well.. gone. No one knows where they are."
"Who?" I ask, somehow already knowing the answer. "Percy," she says. "Harley," "Piper," Each name hits me like a stone in the gut. But I know the worst is yet to come.
"And Will Solace" she says. "The head counselor of the Apollo cabin" She adds, thinking I don't know who he is. But I do know who he is. Just last night he came into my cabin and called me sunshine. He is my sunshine. And now he is gone, just like Percy, Piper, and Harley.
"Do we know where they are? How did they leave?" I demand. Annabeth sighs, rubbing her forehead. "No. I don't know. I don't understand." I stare at her, never having heard her say that she didn't know or she doesn't understand.
Suddenly the air shimmers around us. An Iris message! Through the rainbow I see Reyna. Her face is grim.
"Listen," she starts to say, but I interrupt her. "Let me guess, people are missing." "Yes." She says. "Hazel is. How did you know?"
My heart drops like a stone. Hazel is gone. Will is gone. "You ok there?" Asks Reyna. No! I want to say. My step-sister and boyfriend-like person (I don't know what to call him. My boo? Nope. Not going there.) are missing! "Yep" I say. I can tell Reyna doesn't buy it, but thankfully she drops the subject.
"How did you know that Hazel was missing?" She asked me. I open my mouth but can't seem to say it. Annabeth jumps in. "Because we have missing people too. Percy and Piper are missing. So is a son of Hephaestus, Harley, and our head counselor for the Apollo cabin, Will.
"You should come to camp half-blood." Chiron says. I jump, not realizing he was behind me. Reyna bites her lip. "I can't come, I have some things I need to take care of at camp jupiter. Jason and Frank can come." She decides.
