"You're going to blow up a graveyard!!" Yes, I learned my lesson... Now shush Carol. Colt tilts his head, something dark brewing in his tainted mind. "Well we can go to your mother's grave. I'm sure we can get some booty there." Colt aims the low blow deep at the bowels of her darkening heart. In reaction laughter bubbles up from the darkest parts. "You think I care? Do it! I dare you!" She angrily spits out at him. "What's wrong? Did the little kitten lose his tongue?" He smirks at her then leaves the limousine.

Maxine hesitantly follows suit. She picks her way along as he tramples the beds of the dead.

"Ramirez, place the boom family," he uttered mockingly, "here." Maxine wanted to slap the back of Colt's head. She couldn't wrap her head around his idiocy. "Why in the living hell would you blow up a cemetery in the broad daylight?" Colt stares at her for a hot second and then detonates the payload. The aftermath clears revealing a slightly pissed off Maxine with her arms crossed.

"Vampires. I want them to know I was here." Her arms loosen at his statement. "So they really can't stand daylight?" Colt tosses her a shovel. "In their homeland they can but here it's different. Magic has evolved though. They can now come out during the daylight, but they are still weaker. Now start digging."

Maxine dug as fast as she could. Not wanting to meet a bloodsucker for the first time. "I still don't understand why you're using your favor on a grave robbery. You can easily get more people like Ramirez who's willing to do your bidding." Colt grunts as he digs into the dirt. Even he wanted to scramble before the vamps arrived. He felt as if he could hear the soft pitter patter of their feet and clinking of their armour. Ramirez's shovel thuds against heavy metal. "This is why." Ramirez cleared the dirt off of the stiff coffin as Colt made his way to Maxine. With nimble fingers Colt undid the leather bracer.

"Since you are part human your magic isn't completely evil or good, which can easily fool the magical lock on the casket. Let's wake the dead, shall we?" Maxine looks up at him from between strands of stressed hair. "You make it sound like I'm the only one..." Colt positions her, playing with her limbs like she's a doll.

"That lives in the gray? Yes, now focus all your energy on breaking the lock." It was difficult for her to concentrate. Too many questions flitted around her head. "What do you mean by living in the gray?"

Colt holds his head in frustration. "Concentrate will you!? I can feel them coming. Plus, you kitten is not ready for the answers." Anger festers deep in her stomach causing her magic to shoot out.

"No no no! Keep your mind blank and just concentrate on breaking the goddamn lock! If you lean too much on a side then nothing will happen." Colt was panicking, they were surrounded. Unless it was open soon all will be lost.

Even Maxine felt them drawing near. In a last desperate attempt she sent another magical blast at the lock. Just before it reaches the lock darkness greets her.

She awoke in wavering candle light on a soft bed

She awoke in wavering candle light on a soft bed. The room is decorated in blacks and greens. Everything in the small room was very minimal. "You're awake." Colt greeted her robotically. "What happened?" Maxine tries to rub the stiffness out of her neck. "You took too long so I gave you away as a sacrifice to the rats with wings." He tosses a pack of cookies at her. They land on her stomach.

"Your kidding!" "I Am," Colt replies smugly. "You know I almost took you onto some more torture lessons until I got wind of a vampire cache in the human world. Too good of a chance to pass up. Don't worry I still got the torture done while you were sleeping." Maxine rolls on her side. "Oh yes I should be able to sleep much better now thank you!" She uttered sarcastically in a bitter sweet voice. She goes to scratch her arm to find the bracer there once again. "Really? I feel like one of them cone head dogs." "It's only temporary. Come on time to go." Maxine watched in awe as he created a portal.

"Yes now I can go shower in bleach!" Colt raised a jagged eyebrow at her. "What? I'm trying to not catch STDS or bed bugs from you." His eyes turn angry and then like nothing was ever there the vivid emotion fades. "The only STD I have is a sensual tasteful dick. Now go through the portal."

The portal wavered ahead of Maxine. It stood like a reflection in the water, except it showed her house. With little effort she dived into its depths with no idea how it all was suffocating her...

"Dad?" She found the man with his head cradled in his hands. It was minutes from shattering. "Was it you? Did you really kill her?" He couldn't stop himself before the words tumbled out. He's been stuck in a dream- no, a nightmare and the more he comes out of it the deeper he seems to go. The exit constantly turning into an entrance right before his eyes.

Maxine felt her heart glide through the air just before it hit the floor. How could he do this to her? The clock just above her head clicked on while she stood there frozen, tears brimming her almond eyes. Soon anger started brewing in them.

She looks at her father head on, not stopping the fierceness that rolled off of her in waves. Alexander shrunk back in subtle fear.

She caught the action with ease. "I'd never kill somebody. Or maybe you just don't know me like you thought you did?" She lightly mocked not being able to keep from lashing out at him. But what she didn't know herself is that she herself has changed immensely and that there's no going back.
