Ash~

I wake up because of my alarm clock set to 6:00 AM. Alex is already combing her hair, changed and everything. "Morning," I grumble. "Hey, sleepyhead," she said. That look she gave me, those honey eyes stared at my blue eyes. It was like when we first met in 5th grade. I urge myself to sit then stand up. I stumble to the bathroom, and I soak my cloth rag with sink water and I splash it on my face. I place the rag back on the counter, and I grab my red toothbrush and my Colgate toothpaste and I squeeze the paste onto the bristle. I brush my teeth and I grab my towel from the hanger. "What time is it on my clock?" I shout from the bathroom.
"Its 6:20, Ash! Hurry up!" Alex shouts. "Oh, shit!" I scream. I sprint to my cabinet, and grab a black and red polo and some black ripped jeans, and all the under wear. I quickly shower and I change into my clothes, and pin the buttons that ran down the middle of the polo, and wore a leather belt to hold my jeans. I rush to comb my hair and I put it in a ponytail. I take my first breath of the morning. "Thank God its a Friday." Alex says, relieved I got ready on time. Alex hands me my backpack and I slam the door open. Everyone is half-asleep, their eyes half open. There are dark circles under their eyes, including me. "God..." I groan. I run all the way to the dorm apartment entrance, and I hear the bell ring for late bell. "Shit! We're going to be late!" I growl, and Alex facepalms.

Alex and I arrive fifteen minutes late to Math class. "Where is your late pass?" my teacher, Mr. Jackson, asks Alex and I. "We were in a rush, sorry, sir," I apologize. "Detention again, Miss Wellington. You are a troublemaker for your last year here, tsk tsk, and for Cruz too," He mutters under his breath. I roll my eyes in annoyance. This bastard's been on my nerves once, he's done it again. Detention? For what? Just showing up late? Somebody call mental help for the principal 'cause that's messed up as fuck. Whatever...I thought. I hear giggles around the class. It was that attention whore, Gianna, and her 'friends' that she doesn't know shit about. She just uses them. It wasn't embarrassing. I kept my eyes fixed on Mr. Jackson as he blabbered on about algebra and geometrics. Since I was dying of boredom I felt my eyes closing just I snapped them back open, but I couldn't deny it. I was tired as hell so I allowed myself to close my eyes and sleep.

I wake up, not even knowing what woke me up or how much time passed. Whitney sat next to me so I whispered to her quietly, "What time is it?" "Its almost the end of the period..." she replied. I must've been pretty tired when I slept like thirty minutes ago, especially when its a double period. I feel my iPhone vibrate in my pocket. I usually check my texts after school, but something urged me to check it during class. I sneakily slide the phone into my desk. There was one notification for a text message. It was from my brother, Percy, who already graduated college and was looking for jobs. The message tears my heart apart. It read:
Sis, I got the news from the police department..........Mom and Dad are now...dead because of a car accident...the witness who survived the car accident is being interrogated right now...their funeral is Wednesday, the day after the 12th. I can't take this pain, Ash, its too harmful.
