Chapter Two

I make it out of the school building without an issue. Shit! I forgot to tell the kids that I have to go to work! I pull my phone out and text Milo.

(Y/n): Hey!

Milo: Hey, where are you?

(Y/n): Umm, I forgot to tell you guys but I have to work so you can just head home without me.

(Y/n): Be careful and do whatever homework you have! I'll make dinner when I get home! Bye love you!

Milo: Bye, love you too.

Okay, now that that is done I can head off to work. I make my way down the street that I've walked down so many times. I see some people that I recognize and wave. They wave back with smiles, some larger than others. I'm about five minutes away when I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket. Weird I don't get many calls. I look at the name and see it's Elizabeth. I accept the call. "What's up?" I ask confused. Why would Elizabeth be calling me?

"Oh thank god you're okay!" Elizabeth says on the other side of the phone.

"Of course I am! I told Milo to tell everyone that I was going to work!" I tell her on the phone even more confused now.

"Wait so you mean that the kids aren't with you?" Elizabeth asks worry filling her voice.

"No? You know that when I go to work I don't bring the kids with me," I explain even more confused.

"Well they aren't home and I am worried!" Elizabeth explains to me. I go to respond until Elizabeth starts talking again, "Wait! they just entered the door! They're okay! Bye, see you when you get home!" Elizabeth hangs up on me. I look at my phone in disbelief. Did she really just call me thinking the kids were in trouble? She must have forgotten the amount of time it takes to get home from school! I can't blame her it has been a few weeks. I look up to see that I arrived at Forget-Me-Not Cafe. This place has been like a second home, where I have to work, to me since I started working here. It isn't that popular but it's nice and cozy. The owner is a nice old lady her name is Fleur Gold she has always loved flowers if you couldn't tell by the name of the cafe. I walk in only to be greeted by my co-worker, and best friend after my girls, Noah.

"Hey (Y/n)!" Noah shouts with a huge grin on his face. Noah Lanal has naturally light blond hair that is dyed a pastel pink that complements his pale blues eyes that always hold a little sparkle in them.

"Hi! Oh my god, I have to tell you so much! Just let me put my uniform on!" I tell him as I run behind the counter and to the employee changing rooms. I grab my uniform off the hook and walk into the stall and change. The is a knee-length light blue dress and over the left breast, there is a handstitched forget-me-not. I walk out of the changing room and run into Fleur.

"Ah, (Y/n) you're here! Great would love to talk but I have to go out shopping for supplies I'm leaving you and Noah in charge!" Fleur tells me in her sweet French accent as she runs out the back door. I walk out to the front to see Noah taking a beautiful woman's order. She has long brown hair and bright blue eyes. She is wearing a white blouse that is unbuttoned enough to show her cleavage and a long light pink skirt. I can tell that she is flirting with Noah by the way she's playing with her hair and slowly running her hand up and down his arm. She looks familiar and I realize this is Alina, who is Andre's girlfriend half the time and the other half some random guy who was stupid enough to fall for her. No shame on her for being pretty enough to get a bunch of guys because I wish I was pretty enough to do that. But, I can't excuse her for obviously making Noah uncomfortable. You can easily tell how uncomfortable he is because he is leaning away from her. He is really red and I can't help but stare for a few seconds.
