We returned to camp with three less people and the body of one of our enemies. Everyone cheered at first when they saw us. The children ran up to us in joy and hugged us. After the cheers, there came confusion, "Where's Viper?"
"Where's the prince?"
"What happened to Raven?"
"Who is that?"
"Do they have a blank with them?"
"What happened?"
"Is Shark there?"
"Viper is gone," Bear started once the mumbling had ceased. "She isn't dead, she ran when the others were captured. Shark betrayed us, and Viper accidentally wiped out some of the blanks. They managed to escape with the help of an unlikely friend, Louis, a blank general, saved them and figured out who the prince is. Unfortunately, Raven didn't make it, she died in a battle at the river."
The whispers started again. Silenced once more by another voice from the crowd.
"My brother betrayed you?" Dolphin cried, "B-but he was so eager to help, he promised me everything would be okay!"
"I'm sorry," Bear said to Dolphin, "But he did betray us. He gave away information on our camp and its whereabouts, the blanks are attacking our camp tonight."
"Tonight?"
The murmuring began again.
"What about the prince?"
"Did they even find him?"
"Can he save us?"
"Not everything was in vain though," I finally spoke up, "We did find the prince."
"Can we see him?"
"Who is it?"
"Bring him out!"
"The prince is going to stay hidden for now, although he will help us when the blanks arrive. Right now, what we need to focus on is getting everyone away from here," Bear finished for me.
"There is a trailer that we arrived here in, it's big enough to comfortably fit all of the children and anyone unable to fight. There are weapons and supplies in there that we will clear out today. Anyone else who can fight, please stay here with us to defend the camp, we won't be able to stay here any longer, but we can't all just run."
There was a cheer from the group, everybody wanted to fight.
"Rat," Bunny said, tugging on my sleeve, "I want fight."
"I'm sorry Bunny, but you have to stay with the other children when the blanks come," I said, kneeling down so I was on her level.
"But I want to fight with you," Bunny said, her lip wobbling, "What if I never see you again."
"I promise you'll see me again," I said, looping my little finger with hers, "And as soon I see you again, I'm gonna talk to the prince, and he's gonna make you a princess and we can live happily ever after, yeah?"
"Yeah," Bunny said, hugging me tightly.
"Now go get ready to hide with the other kids," I said, watching her run off.
I stood up and grabbed Dove's hand, waiting for them to attack.
