Ryder and the pups were playing in the yard, when his pup pad went off. Ryder answered it.

"Ryder here!" He said.

"Ryder please help, I'm stuck under a bridge, I'm bleeding pretty bad!" Mayor Humdinger said.

"Of course, no job is too big, no pups too small!" Ryder said. "PAW Patrol to the Lookout!" He called all his pups.

"Ryder needs us!" They all said.

They ran to elevator, and as usual Marshall trips and crashes into the other pups.

"PAW Patrol ready for action, Ryder sir!" Chase said.

"Thanks pups for hurrying, we have a big emergency, Mayor Humdinger is stuck under a bridge, and injured, we need to save him!" Ryder said.

"Um Ryder, are you sure, I mean Mayor Humdinger is known to lie, it's kind of like, The man who cried Wolf!" Skye said.

"Still we have to make sure!" Ryder said.

"Uh pardon me Ryder, but do you remember last time, Chase got hurt pretty bad!" Rocky said.

Ryder was beginning to have doubts, he hates it when his pups get hurt!

"Maybe you have a point!" Ryder said. "Then I guess false alarm!" Ryder said.

All the pups cheered and run back to playing. Ryder however was having a sick feeling.

Meanwhile Mayor Humdinger waited under the bridge, his foot was stuck, and his stomach had a puncture wound from hitting a rock. No matter how much he tried to contain the bleeding, it wasn't stopping. A hour went by, still no sign of the PAW Patrol. He tried to call Ryder again, but no answer.

"Will I guess I deserve this, maybe everything would be better off without me...I just didn't expect to die like this!" Mayor Humdinger said.

He laid there, letting his hand fall to the side, so he'll bleed out. He leaned his head back against the cliff. His heart was beating fast, his breathing became shallow. His vision started to go dark. Then his heart stopped beating, he let out his final breath.

Meanwhile Ryder and the pups were heading in the Lookout to watch tv, when two police cars, and and an ambulance rushed by. Ryder got a horrible feeling, he decided to get on his ATV and fallow them. He fallowed them to a bridge. Rescue teams were bringing someone up. His blood ran cold as he saw who they were bringing up.

"Mayor Humdinger!" He gasped.

He watched as the EMT do CPR, but shook their head. He watched in horror as they covered him with a sheet.

"No, what've I done!" Ryder whispered.

"I deserved it!" Came Mayor Humdinger's voice.

Ryder spun around to see Mayor Humdinger's ghost.

"I should of just came!" Ryder said.

"It's fine, I'm more happier this way, so will the citizens of Adventure Bay, now you don't have to worry about me scams anymore!" Mayor Humdinger said.

"But still, I should of never ignore a cry for help!" Ryder said.

"Like I said, I deserved it!" Mayor Humdinger said. "But I have a favor to ask you!" He continued.

"What is it?" Ryder asked.

"Can you take care of my kitties, they need someone to take care of them!" Mayor Humdinger said.  "Oh and Herald, if you can find him!" He said.

"Of course I will!" Ryder said.

"Thank you!" Mayor Humdinger said, and started fading.

Ryder sighed.

He returned to the Lookout a hour later, with the sad kittens.  He couldn't find Herald.

"Ryder, why do you have Mayor Humdinger's kittens?" Chase said.

"They're staying with us, we owe it to Mayor Humdinger!" Ryder said.

"Wait Mayor Humdinger is..." Ryder finished the sentence.

"Dead, Chase, he really needed our help, and I was a fool to let you pups talk me out of helping him." Ryder said angrily.

Without another word, Ryder retreated into his room with the kittens.

The pups now realized they made a grave mistake.
