"Hey! Check it out." The boy with floppy long hair called out to the group still sprawled out on the ground.
Chloe lifted her head up to face where Finn was standing a long rope in his grip. The group all sent each other knowing glares, all thinking the exact same thing."You wanted to go first. Now quit stalling." Clarke teased the boy who had a firm grip on the rope.
"Mount Weather awaits." Octavia beamed, slowly getting up onto her feet with a bit of assistance from the older brunette beside her.
"Any day now." The blonde rolled her eyes playfully, watching as Finn stalled.
He was obviously afraid to get to the other side of the river, especially with that weird sea creature still lounging somewhere in the
blue-ish green-ish water. As Finn was about to jump, Jasper stopped him.
"Wait, let me."
Finn turned to look at the tall, scrawny boy and chuckled handing him the rope.
"Knew there was a badass in there somewhere."The boy with goggles looked to the two brunette girls then shifted his gaze to Monty. Monty knowing well that Jasper was only doing it to impress both Chloe and Octavia.
"See you on the other side." Jasper smirked, gaining courage as he swung himself across the river, cheering.
He had quite a rough landing on the other side, as he stumbled and fell flat on his face. Jasper took some time to get back up on his feet seeing a sign saying 'Mount Weather.' He immediately lifted the sign over his head and waved it around.
"WHOO!"The group on the other side chanted and whistled as Clarke made her way to the rope to go next. That was when a spear bolted in the air above them and pierced itself right in Jasper's chest. The boy flew back hard against a tree, his body lay still... lifeless.
"Get down. Get down." Finn whisper-yelled as everyone made their way behind the rocks.
Their faces, filled with terror. Chloe grabbed onto Octavia's arm, tugging her down so that she was out of sight. Clarke spoke up for everyone, they were all too stunned to say a word seeing their friend on the other side of the river bank scewered by a spear around a metre long."We're not alone."
Chloe helped Monty up onto his feet and gently convinced him to come, meanwhile Finn was struggling to get Clarke to move. In the distance the group heared an ear-splitting scream, turning around to face where the scrawny boy once laid. Now gone.
"They took him."The group quickly made their way back to camp, not stopping for any breaks. Octavia was limping slightly because of her leg. Chloe and Monty both allowing the younger girl to wrap her arms around their shoulders so she could walk. When they had come back, the camp seemed to be in a slight chaos. Clarke immediately snapped at both Murphy and Wells who were acting like two preschoolers fighting over a simple toy.
As expected, Bellamy immediately came rushing over to Octavia's side whilst Chloe and Monty gently supported her onto a large rock. The older Blake instantly stared bullets into the brunette that stood across from Octavia. The brunette slumped her shoulders and raised her hands in surrender at the boy's gaze. The boy was met with a slap on the shoulder from his sister.
"Stop it Bell."Bellamy then averted his attention to Finn and Clarke.
"Where's the food?" He asked.
Finn promptly responded with a quick explanation saying that they never made it to Mt Weather.
"We were attacked." Clarke butted in.
"By what?" Wells questioned.
"Not what. Who. It turns out, when the last man from the ground died on The Ark, he wasn't the last grounder." Finn replied, blankly staring at the blonde beside him.
"It's true. Everything we thought we knew about the ground is wrong. There are people here, survivors. The good news is, that means we can survive. Radiation won't kill us." Clarke continues."The bad news is... the Grounders will." Chloe exhaled, watching Wells' eyes flicker to the group that had just recently come back.
"Where's the kid with the goggles?" He interjected, once realising Jasper was no longer with the group.
"Jasper was hit. They took him." Clarke decalared, looking around to the now bewildered delinquents. The blonde then turned to look at Wells' wrist noticing that his wristband wasn't there anymore, she immediately questioned the Chancellor's son who turned his head to glare in Murphy's direction.
"How many?" Clarke huffed.
"Twenty-four and counting." Murphy snickered, a proud smile making its way onto his smug face.
"You idiots. Life support on the Ark is failing. That's why they brought us down here. They need to know the ground is survivable again, and we need their help against whoever is out there. If you take off your wristbands, you're not just killing them. You're killing us!" The blonde snapped at the crowd of delinquents they had gathered.
She was fuming from their lack of responsibility.
"We're stronger than you think. Don't listen to her. She's one of the privileged. If they come down, she'll have it good. How many of you can say the same? We can take care of ourselves. That wristband on your arm? It makes you a prisoner. We are not prisoners anymore! They say they'll forgive your crimes. I say you're not criminals! You're fighters, survivors! The Grounders should worry about us!" Bellamy thundered, capturing everyone's attention.
This stupid, 'speech' made the delinquents erupt in cheers, cheering on Bellamy's leadership."What now?" Monty inquired, looking over Clarke's shoulder at the loony delinquents still cheering.
"Now.. we go after Jasper."
