Chapter 2: What madman have I come across again!

Am I okay? No. Absolutely not. I've never slept as badly as I did last night. Alicia doesn't look so good either, I don't think I'm going to put her at school today. I'm not going to work either, I just hope my boss understands...Today's the day we're going to see Andrew at the hospital. I'm so apprehensive about this visit...I wish I could be like Alicia, have my head full of wonderful things and not realize what's going on around me, not realize how cruel this world is.

Mr. Mckenzie's POV:

Yesterday afternoon I was about to leave because I had finished my shift when a stretcher arrived with a man in his twenties I would say, maybe even thirties, full of blood and who seemed to be in pretty bad shape.

The guy was in a car accident after hitting a tree on the afternoon of the 27th. He was completely drunk. Another one getting in a car after drinking! The man's name was Andrew Gardner, he had a girlfriend and a daughter about 4 years old. His girlfriend was kind of pretty, even really beautiful... After spending the night in intensive care, his condition did not improve. I was taking care of a patient when a woman walked into the hospital lobby with a little girl with curly hair. This woman I recognized immediately, it was the woman in the picture in the wallet in my patient Gardner's pocket. She was even more beautiful in person. I would stop, call a colleague to take the young patient I was caring for to an examination room and walk over to this woman.

"Hello, Miss! How can I help you?

-Hi, um, I'm looking for my friend... uh, his name is Andrew Gardner and he had an accident yesterday afternoon, and he was admitted to this hospital... Can I see him please?

-Oh I see, unfortunately not right now he's still in too fragile a state to have visitors.

- The problem is I was coming today with our daughter to see him. I'm afraid that afterwards it will be difficult for her to visit him with school, my work and all that."

"Wait! I'm sorry, I'll try to find you a moment to see him. It must be hard for you, now that you have to take care of your little one. What's this adorable child's name anyway?

-Oh, is that right? Thank you. Her name's Alicia, say hi, sweetie.

-Good morning.

- *smile* I'm sorry again, if you want to talk, I'm here.

-Thank you, that's nice, but I think I'll be okay.

-Are you sure? I can buy you a drink if you want, maybe... tonight, okay?

-I don't think I have much of a choice. *nervous laugh* where exactly?

-At the café du Parc!

-OK, I'll be there. Is 7:00pm okay?

-Perfect! By the way, miss, I haven't introduced myself, Paul McKenzie. What's your little name?

-My name is Kelly.

-Good. Kelly will see you tonight then, I have to get back on duty. Bye, guys. "

I can see that she is suspicious, but how beautiful she is, an angel fallen from heaven! If that woman doesn't fall into my arms, I don't understand.

Kelly's POV :

I can't believe it ! The guy's hitting on me out of the blue! What madman have I come across again?!

Why did I accept, me, what an idiot I am sometimes !!!

I have to get out of this place before I throw up! I pull Ali by the hand. This place has made me nauseous!
