Danielle couldn't keep it together. She started laughing in all three of their faces as if though she was watching a comedy sitcom. It was one thing if they asked her to work for them, but they want her to marry someone? Hell no.
Danielle knew that certain sub-breeds of the Caucasus were weird, but this breed was absolutely bonkers. Emma hasn't seen her for over two years and then she shows up, bails her out, then proposes marriage to her like it was the Victorian era.
Like, who the fuck is she?
To make matters worse, they were making the proposition seem like it was a trade-off. They do a favor for her and she repays that favor which made the whole thing mind-boggling because she never asked for their help. She was more than okay with staying in that jail cell for the weekend, but they came like captain save a hoe. Now, they were asking her to marry someone she didn't even know.
Ha, funny.
"Tuh, y'all got me fucked up. Let me out, this my stop." She said trying to get out of the car but the driver locked the door.
She turned to Emma but Emma looked away. She couldn't bear looking at Danielle knowing that she was the one who proposed her to her brother. She only called Danielle's name because everyone had to offer a woman who would be a perfect fit and Danielle's name was the first to pop up in her head. She didn't think that her brother would actually go through with it, especially after he did a background check on her.
"We won't force you to do anything, just take this contract and read it over. Everything you need to know is in there." Florence said handing her a thick packet to read.
Emma's mouth went dry as she looked at the packet. Even if Danielle refused the proposition she would still have to do it. Her brother would deem it fit to ruin her life until he got his way. The only reason they gave her the contract was so that they didn't have to go down that road.
