"You're my best friend, and we're dancing in a world alone, a world alone... we're all alone." A World Alone by Lorde

"Lilli?" Ororo screeched. She pushed past the rest of the X-Men and leaped off of the surplus truck, slamming into Lilli.

Lilli laughed, hugging Ororo tightly. "Hey, Ro," she laughed. She'd missed her best friend.

"Oh my God, you're back," Ororo said, pulling away. Her face was wet with tears, yet she was smiling widely. "I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you too," Lilli laughed, tearing up herself. She looked behind Ororo at Jean, who'd also jumped down. "Thank you." Lilli said to Jean, who smiled.

"I'm glad you came," Jean said. "Took you a while, though."

"Yeah, I got a little hung up," Lilli laughed. She couldn't stop smiling; she was actually back with her family. Her nerves had washed away the second Ororo had hugged her (or tried to, since her arms were still tied up) and she felt elated. She felt like a helium balloon soaring up high through the clouds. She'd missed her friends so much.

"You knew about this?" Hank asked, coming up behind Jean. He suspiciously eyed Lilli in her Kezing suit.

Jean nodded at Hank. "I went down to Ohio last night to get her when I got wind that Kezing was planning an attack."

"Then she ditched me all alone with two Kezing agents," Lilli said, smiling in fake annoyance at Jean.

"Where are they now?" Raven asked. Lilli shrugged.

"No idea." Lilli said. She turned to see the rest of the X-Men had hopped off of the surplus truck and undid their shackles. Lilli couldn't bring herself to look at Peter or Warren, so her gaze fixed itself firmly on the others: Kurt and Scott. She'd never been too close with either of them, so she was unsure how they were going to react.

Kurt stepped up and hugged Lilli tightly, having to bend down slightly since he towered over her. "I thought you'd left for good." Kurt said as he pulled away. He seemed genuinely happy. He apparently has forgotten the time he'd knocked Lilli unconscious, or the countless fights they'd had.

Lilli laughed. She couldn't stop laughing. "Well, I did. But Jean just had to drag me back here," Lilli said, smiling as she rolled her eyes at Jean.

Scott didn't come hug Lilli or even say anything, but he did offer her a smile. That was all the confirmation she needed that she was in the cool with him. Lilli's eyes seemed completely unwilling to listen to her and would not look at either Peter or Warren, who were standing towards the back together. She just couldn't bring herself to look at them.

Luckily, Hank drew Lilli's thoughts away from Peter and Warren. "I wonder why they all left so soon," he said as he kicked one of the Kezing agents lying sprawled on the ground.

Lilli laughed nervously. "Yeah, that was me."

"What?" Raven asked, her brows pulling together. Lilli nodded sheepishly.

"Yeah, it was the only thing I could think of." Lilli replied, sucking in her lips as she looked at the ground.

"How'd you do it?" Raven pressed.

Lilli shook her head quickly. "That part doesn't matter," she squeaked. She didn't want the X-Men to think that she was one of Kezing's whores. Or for Warren to think she'd slept with his dad. Yuck.

"What should we do with them?" Peter asked the group, talking about the unconscious agents strewn around the lawn. Lilli's eyes snapped up to meet Peter's gaze. He quickly looked down.
