Chapter 6

It has been a few decades since Kira joined the Cullens. Her surname was now Cullen. They found out how ruthless and cold-hearted she was, but they still loved her no matter what. The family knew how she was trying to change, but it was difficult. They didn't know her old life or her age. They were living in Alaska with the Denali's.

Kira and the Denali's became close friends. One thing the Cullens noticed was that she became best friends with Kate, Carmen and Eleazar. Sometimes, Kira, Carmen and Eleazar spoke in Spanish to each other, seeing as they were fluent in the language. She and Kate shared their determination trait.

One day, the Cullens decided to ask Kira how old she was. They were going to ask her about her old life, but they knew they might be pushing it. They decided on Rose to ask seeing as they were the closest out of the Cullens.

"Hey, Kira, " Rosalie spoke softly.

"Hey, Rose," Kira replied.

"How old are you?" Rosalie asked.

"I'm older than a millennium," Kira stated.

Rosalie was lost for words. She thought Kira would be around a century, not a millennium. Kira was older than Carlisle by a lot. She wondered how the family would take it.

When she reached the family. She told them Kira was over a thousand years old. To say they were shocked was an understatement. The family were debating whether to ask Kira about her past life, but they were all anxious. Kira was very powerful and could easily hurt the Cullens.

"Seeing as you are too scared to ask me about my human life, I might as well tell you," Kira spoke up, startling them.

"Ok," they all stated at the same time.

"So, When I was human, all I felt was loneliness. My parents never stayed in town and left me with the housekeepers. They never spent time with me, and I barely saw them. Everyone in the village respected me and feared me. I was popular but disliked by everyone. One day, I heard someone being hurt. I quickly ran over and saw a bunch of boys hurting a boy and girl my age. I had heard of them before. Everyone hated them and called them names. I didn't like that so I stood up for them and saved them. In two weeks, we became best friends. The boy and I started courting and his sister became my closest and best friend. She was a sister to me. A few weeks later, I was going to the area we always met, and I noticed they weren't there. I heard cries and screams. As I neared the screams, I noticed people crowding around a stake. In the corner of my eye, I noticed their Mother. Screaming. I started to scream too, and I tried to get closer. I could not just let them die. I got closer, and I was crying. I could see them. The tears got heavier, and my screams grew louder. I glared at everyone who was cheering. I noticed the people were ignoring me, and they seemed to not recognise me. As I sobbed, my knees gave out. Two men grabbed my arms and started to tie me to the stake too. I started to cry even more. A man then lit it on fire. We began to scream louder. Two men were on each side of their mother and killed her. My best friend took it harder than my beloved. He was blocking everything out, my best friend gave an ear-piercing scream. I was trying to stay strong for them. The whole village was cheering with joy. We closed our eyes for a second. There was silence. So I re-opened them, and we noticed something. The cheers were quiet. Everyone lay dead on the ground. There was a man, and he had red eyes. The twins were smiling slightly. I was confused. Then I felt a burning sensation throughout my body. Then I blacked out." Kira explained and took an unnecessary breath.

" I woke up on the ground and looked around. The first thing I had noticed was the dead bodies of the village. I could see more clearly. The man that saved us was nowhere to be seen. Then in the corner of my eye, I saw them. The twins. Their bodies lay lifeless. Then I felt a burning sensation in my throat. I was thirsty. I saw my maid and drank her blood. I couldn't bear it looking at their lifeless bodies so I ran. My happiness disappeared when I lost them."

The Denali's and The Cullens all looked at Kira with sympathy. She had lost the two people who had cared for her. They wanted to ask her who they were and why she drank human blood and not animal blood, but they knew not to push her.

Kira, Eleazar, Carmen and Kate decided to hang out for the rest of the day. An hour later, Kate's curiosity was rising. She decided to ask.

"What are the names of the twins?" kate said.

" I'd rather not say. It's hard for me to say. It brings me back to my mourning. When I mourn, I kill people, " Kira explained.

"Ok. But why do you drink human blood and not animal blood?" kate continued.

"My powers go out of control and I'm not as good with controlling my powers when I drink animal blood, " Kira told them.

" Ok." kate said. She didn't know what else to say to her.

They just sat in silence and read a book at human speed for the rest of the day.
