"What the hell is wrong with you Finn?", I hear a distant scream and a feeling of relief come through me.
If she's screaming, it means that she's fine. It's when she's silent that I need to worry.
I open my eyes and her face is above mine. Eyes filled with concern and completely white. Wait. Why are her eyes white?
"What happened to your eyes Ava?", I say before sitting up and taking her face in my hands.
"Do not try to move the subject with me right now. Why did you follow me? It's horrible here and in our world you had enough money to buy yourself a new reputation, a new wife and-", she begins in an angry tirade but I know that she feels bad because she feels like she ruined my life.
"Ava. I don't know what you did to the Queen and you can be damn sure that I'll be harassing you until I know, but, I'm sure she deserved it. I wish you would have told me, but I would not want to be anywhere else right now. I am actually mad that you thought I would want a new wife.", I say and I smile, to let her know that I'm honest.
She sighs and lets me go before putting herself in a ball and beginning to cry.
I look at her back and the wounds are practically closed. The only advantages of being a soldier.
I take her in my lap and let myself fall on a wall behind me. There are so many sounds here and I can't recognize any. I concentrate to make my wings enter my back and begin to think. If we live here now, we will need to organize.
