Ali POV

We're at the hospital I'm waiting for the doctor to come in.

Emily: I'm so happy I came to surprise you.

Ali: I'm scared.

Emily: of what?

Ali: what if we lose her.

Emily: they are monitoring her heartbeat. It's very steady.

Ali: still what if I can't give you what you want?

Emily: it's ok baby.

He rubs my bump. I get a false contraction.

Doctor: sorry to keep you waiting.

Ali: is she ok?

Doctor: yes it was just mucus plugs. Her head is down so that means she's getting ready to pop the water. You can have her very soon. From what I see here she's 7 months?

Ali: yes. Almost 8 on the 30.

He nods.

Doctor: so you can't fly. You can drive but now flying. You can get a clot or you can have your water break in the air.

I nod.

Ali: thank you. When can we leave?

Doctor: I'll get your papers.

Ali: wait what about sex?

Emily: Alison!

Doctor: yes just nothing too much.

I nod. He walks out.

Han: so I guess we are driving.

Emily: yeah. We got lucky baby I think we should take it easy no walking too much.

Nurse: hi how are you feeling?

Ali: I feel the contractions. Am I dilated?

Nurse: I can check.

Ali: please.

I lay on my back.

Nurse: just spread your legs please.

I nod. She slides her fingers in. I squeeze Emily's hand.

Nurse: only one. So you are safe if you were like 3 or 4 the. We would have to worry.

I nod.

12:44 am

We get back to the apartment.

Emily: baby I want you to lay down please.

Ali: babe I'm sorry you-

Emily: I don't want to here it.

Ali: Emily please don't go.

I grab his arm.

I smile.

Ali: I need to take a bath.

Emily: ok.

Emily: how's your back?

Ali: it still hurts but I'm fine.
