School was a blip after I ditched a period with Adam on my first day. I went about my classes, didn't really talk to anyone, and sat with that nice locker girl at lunch - Clare and her friends.
I noticed that I had the same lunch period with Adam, he sat with what I guessed were his siblings and some other people at a long table. I guessed they were his sibling because they were very similar looking. They all had an eerie vibe. I chose to keep my head down.
I pushed all the thoughts away from my mind. I had enough going on already, I didn't need to add macabre stalkerish guy to my list. Why in the hell would he know my last name? A question I couldn't answer.
Finally the last bell of the day rang, and I walked out of the science hall and through the front doors and waited for Ms. Addams.
She was just pulling in around the loop I walked off into the grass and hopped into her beat up mini. She smiled warmly.
"How was your first day?" She asked. Her eyes lingering on the road as she pulled out of the drive through and on the main road.
"It was.. long. I had no idea what kind of food they were giving us. This boy at our lunch table squeezed the grease out of the sweet potato fries. Completely covered his tray. It was gross." I laughed towards the end. I recalled him licking at it too.
"They're teenage boys sweetie, expect no better."
I frowned, and watched the outside world pass by through the window.

I was still very nervous about living with a woman I hardly knew. But then again, I had definitely had worse. I tried not think about that as we pulled into the little parking space next to the grey painted porch.
"I've been paying this nice young man from your school to come by on Tuesdays to mow my lawn. He's cute." She winked at me.
I couldn't hold in my scoff.
It made me woefully upset when she said that. She didn't know any better, but still it made me remember things. That sparked some anger in me.
I walked up the stairs, a little loudly.
"I have a lot of homework." I said sharply.
I threw my backpack on the floor and curled up in the bed. Just peeking at the clock. It read 3:31
I felt an instant and awfully forbidden regret creep into me. Therein lies my curse - I have anger issues. But I also have respect I guess because I always feel guilty for slamming doors and snapping and raging at people, I have conflicting emotions. I do things, like get black out drunk and stab my pervy foster brother - Jason - with a broken Jose Cuervo bottle. True story.
In my defense, I was being sexually harassed and defending myself. But with my track record I still got 2 years probation. Whereas he did 6 month jail time and 3 years probation.
Fuck the Judicial System.
My bed was so soft and so warm. I could sleep forever...

"Daniella." A voice had said.
My eyes burned from the bright lights all around. I was in a city square, with electric billboards and too many street lights to count. It looked as though it'd be a very busy and crowded place. But it was the dead of night. And so eerily quiet.
