"Gwen, Gwen honey, It's time for church" I stifled a groan as my mother shook my sholder, burying my face into the pillow. The blinds flew open and I protested. My mom grabbed my feet and tickled while my little dog jumped on my head and started licking my face. It was an ambush.
"Fine! Fine!" I gasped "I'm up! I'm up!"
"Good" my mother said with a grin "church starts in twenty" She left the room with my dog and shut the door. I started the shower and brushed my teeth saving time later. After I cleansed myself I got ready, pulling on a purple sundress and scraping my hair back into a ponytail.
"Gwen!"
"Coming mom!" I shouted racing down the stairs. Mom stood at the open door.
"Come on we're gonna be late!" We hopped in the car and practicly sped the whole way there. Finally we parked and ran in.
"Good to see you Bettsy!" Mrs. Malone said with a smile as we sat down.
"You to Barbra"
"I can't believe that you two actually made it before the opening song!" She said laughing.
"Us ether!" My mom replied as we stood to sing. I scooted over to where Sabrina was standing on the other side of her mother. We sang a few songs then sat again to listen to the sermon.
"This is so boring!" Sabrina whispered. Her mother swiveled to give us the death glare. So, instead of whispering back I nodded. Sabrina descreetly took out her phone and pointed to it, then to me. I know that it's bad, but I would have fallen asleep otherwise. My phone buzzed and I tryed not to giggle.
-my mom is such a pushover! >:P -
-She's just trying to be responcible! :) -
I loved Sabrina's mom, she rocked. As I waited for her next text I looked through my other messages. My heart just about stopped. There was one from Zayn. I flipped my eyes to Sabrina and saw that she was deeply involved in telling me exactly why her mother Was a pushover. So, I opened the text.
-I have a problem that I really need to solve, but im scared-
My heart did a little flip flop. One of the biggest stars ever was scared of something. A new message from Sabrina came in but I ignored it so that I could reply to him.
- You can tell me, but only if you feel ready. Don't try to force yourself into anything. -
I know it was corny. I just really wanted him to trust me. After shooting it off I looked at Sabrina's text. I was right. It consisted of about forty lines of why she hated her mother. I sighed and shook my head at her, then deleted the message. I did NOT want to get caught with this on my phone. She pouted then shut up as her mom eyed her. We listened to the rest of the sermon like the most dutiful children we where. Finally the end came. It was such a relief that Sabrina and I stretched as we stood up in the pews.
"Betsy" Sabrinas mom asked "would you like to join us for brunch at the country club?"
"Oh Barbra, you know we couldn't. Besides I have work to do and Gwen has homework." Thank you mom! I thought to myself. I just really needed a break right now.
"Alright then, I'll see you next week!"
"See you!"
Mom and I filed past the people and out the doors.
"That was so boring" My mom said. I stopped in my tracks taken aback at her. She giggled behing her hand.
"What?! Usually it's so much more interesting" I laughed and hugged her as we walked to the car.
