Things kind of changed from that night on and forward.
I cut pretty deep into my writs and I guess... my Dad knocked down the door and I was passed out on the floor. He then called 911 and I ended up spending the night in the hospital.
Why I did what I did was almost a mystery to myself. Which is why I guess they moved me in with my mother and told me to quit hockey.
I refused to quit and was forced to go see a Phycologist twice a week. I didn't go back to hockey or school for a week. Tomorrow was going to be my first day back into the swing of things. I was talking to my phycologists.
"So Benny, how is it with your mother?" Her name was Anne. She was extremely beautiful to me. Never wore makeup and had these natural long curls. Of course she was about 30.
"I don't want to be with my mother." I said. Which was true.
"Benny, from what I've heard your Dad makes you do to much work. It must be nice to get some off time and relaxation."
"Anne look, my dad was a lazy drunk ass but he never abused me. He gave me food and shelter. And most importantly the work kept me going. It was all I had. Moonshine was all I had and now I haven't seen her in a week and its killing me."
"So you miss Moonshine?"
"I miss my room, I miss the normalcy."
"That's understandable but change can be well worth it once you get used to it."
"I want to go back home."
"Benny."
"The city is not for me. Please how is taking me away from everything I ever loved going to help me?" I asked. Her face looked sad.
"Benny we have to figure out what caused you to act out." She looked down at my wrists. They were just scaring over.
"If I tell you the truth can I move back?" I asked. So far I had only see Anne once. We didn't talk about why just small things to get to know one another. I've kept quite about everything. Choosing to speak as little as possible.
"Benny, the truth will help a great deal. But don't feel obligated to say it, stuff takes time its okay."
"Well Anne, stuff in my life isn't going as planned."
"Okay, so what were some of these plans?" She asked calmly.
"Just I don't even know. I wanted to maybe have experienced a girlfriend and even making out with a girl or even drinking. I don't know. Like the way I'm going I'm never gonna find the one for me. I thought maybe I'd already have scholarships for hockey and that I would of been in 4-H and entered Moonshine and I in the fair. But so far nothing. None of that has worked."
"Benny, everyone finds love one day."
"That's what everyone says. But I just don't see it."
"And Benny, you're young and your hockey skills only have room for improvement. Just enjoy the game you love so much and don't worry about scholarships."
"Yeah." I rolled my eyes.
"And Moonshine and you. You have a great bond you shouldn't worry about showing her off."
"If we have such a great bond why did you take her away from me?"
Anne went silent.
"Listen I don't make all the rules."
"Yeah I know." I sighed.
"Please Benny, just tell me the truth you know I'm not gonna tell anyone else."
