The sorting was taking AGES and I could feel the anticipation building between the marauders. This was gonna be great.
Every year we pulled a welcome back prank to show the new kids what they're dealing with. And after what Snivellus did to poor lily, I'll enjoy it even more.
I had been walking down to see if Remus was out of the meeting, when I heard someone say “incarcerous” so I stood, hear pressed to the door and heard everything. Snivellus declaration of love, lily's rightful rejection and finally her cries for help before he silenced her.
Furious, I stormed in, and, only 'cause I knew Lily didn't like me cursing him, attempted a verbal negotiation, but, in the end was forced to use petrificus totals (body bind curse) on him.
I ran over to her, to untie her and if he had hurt her I would get him. Well, I would get him anyways, but thank Merlin she wasn't hurt. I'd asked her what he'd done and she said he'd tied her up and kissed her. She was crying. I've only ever seen Lily cry once Infront of me before. Last year when that twat called her .. that name.
Oh I will enjoy this .
The last first year was sorted, into ravenclaw, and me and the marauders all shared a look and smiled.
“ Let the feast begin” Dumbledore announced as everyone began to eat their newly appeared food.
Suddenly there were shrieks of terror and surprise coming from the direction of the Slytherin table. I turned my head to see all the Slytherins, knives and forks still in hand, covered in feathers with big red bits dangling from under the boys chins.
I chuckled. This was hilarious.
Another boom went off as all the food rose from the table to spell the words CHICKENS in the air. The rest of the hall was roaring in laughter as the feather cladded students and the professors tried in vain to stop the floating food and remove the chickenified ( I know it's not a real word, but oh well : >) features.
After sharing a gleeful look, the marauders arose from their seats to stand on the table and took a bow to rapturous applause from the ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs.
“ I must say, some very impressive magic boys,” Dumbledore said through a smile.“ but would you be so kind as to reinstate the former normality as I am quite hungry”.
I laughed and began to cast the many counter curses.
Lily p.o.v
Usually, I would frown on any prank of the marauders but, to my shock, I found myself laughing along with the crowd. It was kinda funny to see se- Snapes face as he realised what happened.
And I also applauded their skill. That must've been highly advanced magic if the teachers couldn't remove it. I glanced at James now. He was muttering spells under his breath and making quick movements with his wand. It was funny to see him attempt to preform the first few spells without laughing.
Soon, all the Slytherins had been returned to normal and with the food confirmed to be safe, the feast began.
And so did my sixth year at Hogwarts
