It was 8am when the sun decided to shine pass my window blinds. Elijah's arms were still around my waist and was trying to get out of his grip.

Elijah: "Good morning beautiful."
Ellie: "good morning." I said placing a peck in his lips
James: "y'all are so cute but it's too early for y'all to be eating yourselfs."

I grabbed my pillow and threw it at James but instead it hit Alissa while she was sitting up. We all laughed and got up.

Ellie: "pancakes or waffles for breakfast."
Alissa, Elijah, Melissa: "doesn't matter."
Ellie: "okay I'm doing both just in case."

They all got changed while I did breakfast. We ate and talked about any plans for summer.

Ellie: "well I'm here alone all the time so my summer is going to be great."
Melissa: "don't your parents always travel. Why don't you travel with them get to know all 50 states."
Ellie: "well hopefully they take me but I doubt it ."
Alissa: "I'm going to Spain bitchheeesss. My parents have been playing it and I'm happy to visit."
Ellie: "congrats. Take me with ." I said with a sad frown

Hours passed and everyone has left. I sat at the couch continuing to watch Big Mouth then my parents walk in through the door.

Mom: "hi honey how was the sleepover."
Ellie: "good."
Mom: "any suggestions for dinner today."
Ellie: "chicken alfredo pasta please."
Mom: "mmmhhh sounds good."

It was dinner time we all sat around and wow it was a really long time since we last ate together in a table and talked. We finished eating and my mom kept looking at my dad.

Ellie: "mom why do you keep looking at dad." I said while my dad this time looked at my mom
Dad: "Ellie we have to tell you something."
Ellie: "I'm guessing they are not good because mom kept looking at you the whole entire time."
Dad: "Ells we are moving to New Jersey."
Ellie: "what why."
Dad: "your mom and I have noticed we haven't been great parents to you and staying at home with you so we decided to find a state that we could work our job and be home and not travel as much. New Jersey was a great state that needed lawyers like us. We will be moving half way through summer because for the other half I would like you to get to know around New Jersey.
Ellie: "Dad but what about my friends here every little memory I have in California will be gone once I move. I wanted you guys with me at home not move."
Dad: "i know Ells. But this decision was made by both your mom and I. So we can finally be with you and make memories."

I was speechless. I got up and walked upstairs to my room and processed everything by staring at the ceiling. I was going to leave the best group of friends. My boyfriend and friends that helped me pass through a toxic relationship and I wanted to spend every moment of summer vacation with him. I wasn't ready to leave everyone and go to a complete unknown state. New Jersey.
