Hello to those reading this, and welcome back. Just a few words before I start.

Ok, first of all, you should go check out SOULXSINGER. She has really awesome stories. Second of all, these characters are not mine! They belong to Rick Riordan extraordinaire! Enjoy the story.

Edit- Sorry it has been so long guys. School started and I stopped using Wattpad actively. My music lessons have been threatened because I read on this instead of practicing. I'm back, though!

Annabeth's POV

Annabeth sighs, watching as her mother walks towards the tunnel. Her mother waves and she waves back, trying to act sad and helpless.

As soon as her mother is out of sight, her big sad doe eyes are replaced with a fierce determination. She slips out of her dress, pulling out the clothes she had hidden under her bed, stuffed behind innocent-looking chests.

The pants she sewed out of her old dresses were much more comfortable and practicle than the skirt, and her knitted tunic brushed softly against her skin. She plops the restrictive dress on the floor, gladly leaving it behind. She never liked the purple color anyway.

Her chameleon, Gale (named after an architectural term, Galliere or something) sits on her shoulder. As she slides down the stair banister, examining her paintings, he tugs on her hair. She smiles and walks over to the mirror, watching him as his green skin shifts to the same blonde as her hair.

"Good job, Gale," she says. "But try to add more shading around the strands of hair." HE gives her a look but follows her advice, shifting some of the colors around.

Annabeth watches proudly. She trained him herself, after all. Her chameleon would not be the helpless little animal everyone took him for, not on her watch. She used to read to him all the time, hoping it would expand his mine and teach him things a human would be taught. He was her friend, not her pet.

She smiles at him, before walking to the kitchen, checking the clock. Turning on her heel and regarding her surroundings with a calculating gaze, she grabs the broom and sighs.

"Seven AM," she says to Gale. "The usual morning lineup."

Ok, it took me a while, but I finished chapter one! The next chapter will be in Percy's POV.

See y'all!

Edit- Don't count on another chapter anytime soon, please. I have no schedule and I don't want to disappoint you guys. I didn't want the chapter to be this short, but I also don't want to make you guys wait any longer then you have. So, would you rather have longer or shorter chapters?
