Annabeth was staying at Percy's apartment as her father and step mother had left for a job vacation.

They had been laying on Percy's bed as for they jad just been watching movies. Flashbacks had been racing through her mind as she felt terrified. Percy had been quiet lately so she had been worried that he was slowly drifting apart from her in their relationship.

These thoughts that were racing through her head had made her insecure and scared. She looked up at Percy who had seemed to be lost in his thoughts.

"Percy?" She was surprised that she could even speak. Her voice sounded hoarse.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"When I'm scared, will you hold my hand?" She felt nervous. She didn't know why. Maybe it's just this insecurity. Annabeth rolled onto her side to face him.

He paused. "Of course I would."

Annabeth rolled onto her back and grabbed his hand tightly.

Percy gave her a confused look. "Why are you scared?" He asked her softly and ran his thumb on hers.

She turned her head to face him. "I'm scares of losing you. And I'm scared that if I let go, you'll disappear." She said simply, the saddness evident in her voice as her voice broke as she turned on her side to face him.

Percy went on his side and put his free hand on her face. And was absolutely speechless. He always thought that it'd be the other way around.

"Annabeth, I'm too difficult to get rid of. Literally. This is like a life long agreement. Once when I'm invited into somebody's life, I'll never leave."

Annabeth smiled. "Promise?"

"I promise."

They fell asleep both holding hands and the promise branded into their heads, always on their minds.
