Chapter 14

Weeks had gone passed and the time for the sports festival was a mere day away. Hayley had finally made enough money to buy herself a new phone and was back into the social media platform. Training with Katsuki had made Hayley stronger and she had learnt some interesting things about his quirk. But she also realised that for some reason he had been acting weird. After their promise, Katsuki had been keeping his distance and even taking it easy on her. He even opened the door one day for her, that was weird.

 Katsuki had helped Hayley set up an application on her phone the one day when the message bar dropped down with Ashton's name on it. She almost lost her new phone... For some reason, he was angry about it and yelled, "Talk to that loser for all I care!" Before storming out. Why are boys so confusing?

Ashton and Hayley had been texting more than anything. He seemed sweet and was working in the police force. Even though his quirk wasn't as strong, it was useful during investigations. She had learned a lot about him. The poor boy apologised for his younger days and wanted to make it up to Hayley by taking her out for lunch. But Hayley was swamped with all her training and preparation for the sports festival, she had to give him a rain check.

The day before the festival, Izuku and Hayley had decided to go and spend the day at the mall. Hayley had asked Izuku to assess a bit of her quirk and give her feedback about some things she struggled with. Learning all these possibilities that could maybe be achieved with her quirk gave her the drive to do better. Izuku smiled at his friend as she blew through his journal on all the notes he had gathered on her,

"Wow, Izuku! These are amazing!!!" Hayley then came across a page with her costume, "What's that?" Izuku leaned forward and blushed, "T-that is a small sound receiver and enhancer that I thought could possibly help you store some sound waves. If you ever were in a position where you overused your quirk, that pendant would have stored enough sound waves to send off an attack similar to your sonic scream or even a sign for help. It's a support item, similar to Present Mic's!" Hayley blushed, "That's amazing..." Izuku face fell, "But unfortunately its too small for all that. Power loader had informed me when I asked about it." Izuku watched as Hayley's face sank, "It's okay, maybe one day they'll have the technology to complete it." Hayley smiled, "Let's go get ice cream!" Izuku nodded Sorry Hayley-chan

The class of 1A stood together as they prepared for the festival. Hayley was adjusting her hair tie as she listened to Todoroki. He was standing before Izuku and proclaiming an all-out war, "I will with without using my left side, that's for sure..." Todoroki then faced Hayley who stood confused, " I look forward to fighting a strong opponent as yourself. Hayley's face fell, "uh me? Uhm, yeah ditto..." Hayley could have sworn she saw a small smirk on his lips but chose to ignore it, "You ready for this?" Kirishima asked, "As ready as I'll ever be, where is Katsuki?" Hayley followed the redhead's line of vision, "He's in the zone over there." Hayley thanked him as she walked over, "Ready to get your ass kicked Explodo-boy?" Hayley leaned over the table, "Tch, your asking for a beating Princess..." Hayley raised her brow, "Princess huh? I guess you've already accepted the fact that you'll be begging for mercy." Hayley smirked at the smoke that was escaping his hands "I'M GOING TO KICK YOU'RE ASS SO HARD THAT YOU'LL BE THE ONE ON YOUR KNEES BEGGING!!!!" Katsuki yelled. Hayley took one of his hands softly. The boy calmed down and gazed at her hand holding his confused, "Goodluck Katsuki... I know you'll be amazing." Hayley smiled. Katsuki's heart raced and he felt his face heat up, The fuck is this shitty girl doing to me?

The start of the festival went by in a flash. When the race had started Hayley remained behind shocked at the determination of all the students. Todoroki had frozen the robots which caused the robots to crash and cut off the path for everyone, "Not Manly!" Kirishima groaned Hayley smirked but her face fell when Kirishima disappeared beneath a large robot, " KIRISHIMA!!!" Hayley Panicked.
