One day our home room teacher, Mr Morgan, announced that a new student by the name of Emily Hawkins would be joining our class. He asked for a volunteer to show her around the school and to help her settle in for the first few days. Naturally, I raised my hand first and Mr Morgan, after giving me a funny look, agreed and told me to be at school bright and early the next morning.
