"I want you to raise her as your very own." Her dear cousin asked her with tears streaming down her face and the pounding of the nearing siege raged.
"No, Isabella, live and raise her yourself!" She cried.
Isabella shook her head and thrusted the sleeping baby girl into her arms. "My place is with my husband but I owe it to my daughter for her to grow up safe and loved."
"But-"
"Please, Brienna. As my dearest cousin and closest friend, I am entrusting you with my only child."
"But you know who she grows up to be."
"So she deserves to have no future because of the one predestined for her to have? Would you rather her dead?"
"No, no! It's just..."
"You know that I've never really believed in prophecies, not like my husband. Besides, who is to say that you raising her is changing her fate? Give her love and reassurance, Brienna. Let her know that she is loved and she will seek the light again one day. Are you alright raising her, knowing who she is prophesied to become?"
