Hi guys, I'm gonna start trying to update this book every week. Let's get this tape rolling
Bakugo POV
Class finally ended, my anxieties made me feel like I was about to throw up. I as so paranoid, but there was one thing I needed to do. I saw Shinso walking out of class alone. I grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back into the classroom.
"What the hell! You can't just mess with other's people's lives like that!" I yelled, towering over him. Popping explosions in my hands. He started to cry, I backed down. Was not expecting that reaction. He looked up to me with a tear stained face. "I didn't mean to fuck his life up. I was just trying to see what would happen."
"I didn't mean for this to happen." He said wiping his eyes. He walked out of the classroom. I just stood there, alone. Dammit, why was I alone? I walked back to my dorm, my mind running a hundred miles per minute. I decided to leave Deku's thirteenth journal for the people who would eventually come after me.
Shinso was really beating himself up. Maybe he wasn't all bad? He just didn't understand. He was kind of like me, he just didn't know better. He was beating himself up, just like how I was beating myself up.
I sat down on my bed, and leaned against the wall. I put the earbuds in, a pressed play for tape five. "Hi, I know what happened. I know you had a right to be mad. But Todoroki what you did really hurt me." I inhaled deeply, letting hot tears roll down my face.
"As I mentioned before, my mother died right before middle school. The only thing I had left from her was a necklace. A green crystal on a sliver chain, I wore it all the time."
Flashback
"Today it's time for the sixth grade show and tell. We asked you all to bring the object that you hold most dear. Midoriya why don't you go first." The teacher announced as I fiddled with my pencil.
Deku shuffled up to the front of the nervously. He pulled out a necklace he was wearing around his neck. "This is a n-necklace that belonged to my mom. I wear it all the time." He said with a sad smile. "Nerd!" I shouted, as he looked down. Everyone in the classroom laughed, including the teacher.
End of Flashback
I was such an ass to him. No other word to describe it, I was such ass. I bit my tongue thinking about everything that went down in middle school. "It was a week after the rumor got around. I was coming back from class, it was late since I was studying for an upcoming exam."
"I remember closing my locker, and you were right there. 'Hi Izuku.' Is what I believe you said. You sounded kind of threatening. I was scared so I stepped back, you stepped one step closer. 'What's wrong Izuku?' You said. I stuttered like usual, but then you grabbed the necklace around my neck, and ripped it off."
"The necklace broke, and part of the chain fell to the ground. I reached up to grab the actual crystal, but you raised it above your head, where I couldn't reach. You shoved me on the ground, and melted my own dead mother's necklace right before my eyes."
"It looked like green water, dripping to the floor. Surrounded by a broken chain. I know you were mad, I know you were angry. I know how things looked, you had every right to be mad. But you didn't have to leave me in a pool of my own tears. Did you Todoroki?"
Silence fell, that was the end of the tape. I stood up abruptly the tape falling to the ground. I opened the door to my dorm, and then slamming it shut. I walked over to Icy-hot's dorm, and banged on the door.
He opened the door a few seconds later, he looked tired, really tired. "It's about that." I said, not wanting to discuss the tapes where others could here. He nodded, knowingly and opened the door letting me in. I stepped into his dorm, standing by the door while he walked across the dorm to sit on his bed.
After he got settled, I yelled. "Was that really necessary!" I screamed, knowing the dorms were sound proof. "You burned the last thing his mother gave him!" He draped his hand across his face, I could have sworn I saw a tear roll down his face. "I didn't know it belonged to his mother." He said through tears.
"I didn't know what he was going through. I didn't know about Shinso. I didn't know how important that necklace was. I just wanted to hurt him, like how I thought he hurt me." He choked on a sob. "I was so selfish, I was such an idiot." He cried.
"I'm sorry for bringing it up." I said, then I let myself out of his dorm.
Author Chan
Sorry for the slightly shorter chapter. But I also feel like this chapter holds a really important message. You never know what someone else is going through:
That worker who just called an idiot, because she took to long to make your coffee.
She was up all night working, trying to get money for her schooling.
The old man you just flipped off on the road.
He just got out of surgery, no one cared enough to even show up in his hospital room.
The girl you called stupid because she failed the test.
She didn't sleep that night, because her dad was drunk and yelling throughout the house.
Okay, sorry I just think this is a really important message that needs to be shared. I feel very passionately about this. It's time for me to roll out.
