Lilian's Perspective
First period was awfully quiet and gloomy. It must be because this class has most of Megan's friends. Our professor gave his condolence for Megan's death and a talk about what to do if you're having a hard time or if you're being consumed by negative thoughts. What made me want to scoff is the fact that most of her friends are great actors that they can actually feign tears. For example, Penelope over there. I saw her laughing a while ago with Hannah while they talked trash about Megan.
"We will be placing suicide hotlines for everyone to use in case they need help." Our professor continued to say. He ended it with a life lesson that he must've picked up while growing before proceeding with class.
I was focusing on his lesson that I didn't notice Irene nudging me until she threw a paper at me. Looking at her, I asked, "What?"
"Did she really hang herself?" She asked. She's always been a fan of mystery so maybe she doesn't believe that Megan would just kill herself. Nodding, I continued listening to our professor.
I didn't have troubles paying attention. Even so, the fact that Megan's lifeless body keeps on replaying in my mind is scary. None of the students saw it except for me because I got back late. What was running through her mind?
"Class dismissed." Our professor said before we all gathered out things. I waited for Irene to finish packing her stuff before we ran to our next class. It was annoying because our next class is at the end of the hallway.
"You have a lot of explaining later!" Irene screamed while trying to balance her books in her hand. I nodded, doing the same thing she's doing.
Huh? I slowed down, but still kept on running after seeing Gray, Megan's boyfriend, frowning behind a pillar. He was at the police station as well... That's right. He looked devastated...
~Flashback~
Tears started to fall from my eyes as I waited for the paramedics to arrive. Hugging my knees close to my chest, my eyes remained down. I closed the door earlier in case anyone would see the incident inside. The principal went to call her parents and told me to not allow anyone except for the paramedics inside.
My hand trembled as I checked the time.
'1:37pm'
It's been 10 minutes since I called 911 and 3 since the principal left. I wonder what's taking them so long...
I looked to my left after hearing footsteps. They've arrived. I remained sitting while I watched them check Megan's body. They checked for wounds, blood and other things that would help them determine if she really did commit suicide.
In the end, they said she did. Her parents were already here by the time they covered her body. Their rushed footsteps must've woke the others up as a few doors began opening.
Everything seemed to move in a fast pace. The next thing I knew, I was at the police station. Apparently, her parents didn't believe that their daughter would commit suicide so they decided to look for suspects. I had an alibi and it was supported by the librarian and some other students, much to Megan's parents' dismay.
As soon as I got out of the interrogation room, I saw Gray come out of the one beside ours. He must've been called here too. Her parents sure are involving a lot of people just to prove that she was murdered.
I watched him walk down the other side of the hallway before disappearing. Taking in a deep breath, I went out of the station and back at the dormitory. Maybe Irene would let me stay at her room for the night... My room's still being cleaned.
