9. Love you

    Taehyung was lazily strolling the palace grounds. He had yet again sneaked out from Yoongi's class. While he was admiring his painting on the wall which he gifted to his father on his last birthday, he heard someone whispering. 

He arched his head to look behind a door which happened to be the kitchen. There, three palace maids were gossiping about an existing matter. Taehyung, being a naughty kid, decided to eavesdrop. 

"I can't believe Prince Jimin is getting married!! Oh! My handsome Prince Charming is taken now!!!" Said one maid making Taehyung cringe. 

"But who is the girl? Is she a princess from another country?" Asked another. 

"No, she isn't. Apparently, she is not even a 'Lady'. She is only a daughter of a merchant."

"Oh my! Marrying someone without a title? Then it has to be because of love." 

"Yes, the rumor says that Prince Jimin had also sent a very detailed love letter with the official proposal."

"Oh! She caught the eye of the prince. She is so lucky. What's her name?" Asked one of the maids. 

"Something YN, I think. She attended His Majesty's birthday and she also came to the palace once with Prince Jungkook."

Her words made Taehyung drop his jaw on the ground. He was so shocked that he literally froze. He thought that Jungkook was in love with YN, then how come Jimin had sent the letter. He quickly ran to Jungkook's room to ask him what was going on. 
     
     
Taehyung found Jungkook swinging his sword in the air. He huffed and asked, "Did you hear that Jimin is getting married?"

Jungkook was dumbfounded. The information was very sudden to take in. He blinked a few times and asked, "Really? Why-why so sudden? Who's the bride?"

"It's YN!! Jimin is getting married to YN! The whole palace is talking about it!! And it's not just that. They said that he also sent a very detailed love letter with the proposal," Taehyung replied. 

"WHAT!!? Why would she marry him? She would be marrying me. I'm the one who sent the marriage proposal!!" Jungkook said, widening his eyes. 

"You sent a proposal to her?"

"Yes."

"I think there's a misunderstanding. We should talk to Jimin," Taehyung ended nodding his head. 

Without saying anything Jungkook dashed out of his room with Taehyung hot on his trails. 
       
      
    
After they had reached Jimin's room Jungkook stopped and stared blankly at the door. Then without knocking he barged into the room. 

There Jimin was at the table reading a scroll. Upon seeing Jungkook he stood up and asked, "What brings you here so early in the morning, little brother?"

"Is it true?" Jungkook asked without answering his question. 

"Is what true?"

"That you sent a marriage proposal to YN's house?"

"Oh! So you heard? Yes, I did," replied Jimin without any care. 

"Why? Why do you want to marry her? And what's with the love letter?" Jungkook asked, becoming anxious. 

"The letter was just to flatter her father. So, he would agree for the marriage. I don't fall for the types like her."

"That means you don't even love her! Then how can you ask to marry her?" Jungkook said on the verge of breaking down.

"It doesn't matter if I love her or not. The most important thing is that she agreed for the marriage. Her father has clearly mentioned it in his return letter that she herself had agreed for it."

"NO!!!! YOU CAN'T MARRY HER!!" Jungkook shouted at him. 

"Why? Why can't I marry her?"

"Because......... because I.... I.." Jungkook couldn't bring himself to say that he loved her. He was so broke that it made him weak and speechless. He just stood there, head down, staring at the floor. A silent tear left his eye. 

'Because you want to marry her so that you can become king.' Jimin said in his mind. He just stared mercilessly at the boy. 

"If you're done wasting my time then please leave. I have important things to do," Jimin completed his words and went back to the table to read. 

On the other hand Jungkook was thunderstruck. He slowly got out of the room with small steps. He stared blankly in front of him. 

Taehyung was patiently waiting outside of Jimin's room. When Jungkook came out he rushed to him and asked, "What happened? What did he say? It was a misunderstanding, right?"

"I thought she loved me too. But I was wrong. I misread her signs," replied Jungkook chuckling bitterly. 

"What are you talking about? YN loves you too. I know that," Taehyung tried to persuade him. 

"NO, I don't want to hear anything. Go away." He freed himself from Taehyung's grip and went back to his room. 

"Ooooh! This is bad. I need to talk to YN." 

Taehyung went to the stable hastily and got on his horse. He had to talk to YN about this. He was sure that it was all a big misunderstanding.

"What do you mean Prince Jimin had sent the proposal? I love Jungkook, father!!" YN said to her father plopping on the ground, tear drops falling from her eyes. 

"What do I do now, Taehyung? How do I tell him that I-that I love him?!" 

"You two need to talk. I'm sure he'll understand. I'll send him a letter that you want to meet him," saying that he went near the window and whistled. 

A white dove came flying and sat on his shoulder. He tied a little paper on its leg and released it. 

"Let's go to the river side."

There Taehyung and YN waited for Jungkook to come to the river. YN clutched her hands very tight that they turned white. 

"Calm down. It's going to be alright," said Taehyung holding her hand. 

"Do you think he will come?"

"He's my brother. I'm sure of it."
