GIRL:
MORNING:
DING! You are the first person I notice. You are standing in the corner this time. It looks like you have those two men spitting on you. I know the feeling. Your eyes are on me, but I quickly turn around. Unfortunately more people enter, so I am pushed back and now I am forced to look in your direction. You do not look at me this time, but I do. You are smiling. I smile too. You look at me, but I quickly look at the ceiling. You probably saw me with make-up smudged around me eyes. You probably thought I was crying. If only my colleagues did not accidentally spill water on my face...he tripped over his chair and the water flung onto my face.
I look your way and I am caught in your stare. You look at me...up and down...and you curl your lips up into a smile which reaches your eyes. I blink. You are smiling at me? I smile back.
I raise my hand to wave...DING! I jolt to the noise. The doors open. I try to leave when you walk out, but my colleague calls my name.
AFTERNOON:
BOY:
DING! The doors open. I immediately notice there is no one. You are not there. You are usually here. Although it is earlier. I shrug and enter because I need attend a meeting. The doors close and I am left with the music playing softly, which I rarely hear anymore.
Suddenly the doors stop by a hand which emerges from the outside. I jump. I recognize that hand...it's you!
You are in dressed in a beautiful dress. You look elegant and your hair is not tied up this time. Your hair is down and it looks breathtaking. You smile at me, and I smile back.
The doors close and I realize there is no one else here.
This is my chance. At long last. I can speak to you without anyone's eyes darting our way.
I turn to face you, but you also turn to face me. As if you knew I was going to look at you. We both smile, and I start to speak.
"So...Do you come here often?" My eyes look to the ceiling. Good going you idiot.
You burst out laughing and reply. "Well I think it safe to say that I have not been here before alone...with you." She bats her beautiful eyes.
I chuckle.
DING! We exit at the same time and smile as we look back to the empty elevator.
THE END.
